Warning, the photo is bloody.
Is this FAKE or not?
Anyone knows the background of WPP and Chris Hondros?
To: NonAmerican
I think this is fake...it looks like the Girl was near a Car Bomb attack and got blood sprayed on her and was just frightened.

I wouldn't put it past the media to completely change the story of what happened in order to advance an agenda. They've done it many times before.

I don't believe it's real as well. The photo may be real, but not the caption. The awards were announced on 10 February 2006.

Look at the blood pattern on his boot. It's a straight line. That means his foot would have to have been there when the blood splatter occured. At the moment of the incident? I don't think so. But hey, I'm not a blood splatter expert.

The photo shows a US soldier beside the girl. I don't see a US soldier or dead parents in the picture. All I see is a leg and the printed assertion that a US patrol killed someone. It smells like poorly done propaganda to me.

Slimes are LIARS!!!
Their role model Moe Ham Hed even LIED about his own divinity!!
When he negotiated a treaty with Arabs who were at war with him, he did not insist that his title as prophet be placed in the document (this act horrified his companions, to the point where they thought it was sacrilege). Instead, he had his name written as simply Muhammad, the son of Abdulla. This placated his enemy and was essential to successfully concluding the treaty, which gave the Muslims an extended period of peace that allowed them to publicize Islam.
The peace treaty was for ten years. Moe broke it in two!!!!
We should NOT EVER BELIEVE ANYTHING the Slimes say or do without deliberating the context, and repercussions of actually believing anything they say or do!
The Toon riots were started by Toons published by the leaders/imams/satan worshipers themselves!
Sura 9:5 of the Koran, Slay the idolaters muslimes wherever you find them, and take them captives and besiege them and lie in wait for them in every ambush.

I'm not familiar with Newday. Are they more credible than say CBS- who would either grossly manipulate a story or just fabricate it, as needed?
*If the account at the link is a true recounting of events*, then it sounds like a tragedy. Some guy driving his family somewhere after curfew accelerates when approaching a patrol that is ordering him to stop, gets lit up, mom and dad KIA.

Getty Images is First class organization. Is the photo real?
Yes, I think the photo is real. The girl's expression is also real.
How do I know this?
I am a professional photographer.
To: NonAmerican
Doesn't look fake to me. Powerful photo, in fact. Kudos to the photographer.

A photo can be real, but the award manipulated - and the STORY about the circumstances of the photo manipulated - to become mere propaganda.

A photo can be real, but the award manipulated - and the STORY about the circumstances of the photo manipulated - to become mere propaganda. Or it could be entirely true.
Is there any further evidence on either side?
