Hmmm, an Argentine president with a German surname; I wonder if his family appeared in Argentina circa WWII...

At first you think: Why do they want this? National pride? Like Canada wanting that football-field-sized piece of ice in the North Atlantic? Or is it because the Faulklands have a British culture and work ethic?

Argentina has had a large German population for over a century, just like the US. Some Nazis went there because Juan Peron was in power, and many other Germans went there after 1945 because their own country was in ruins.
Personally, I think Venezuela is ripe for yet another military coup. Surely some of the generals are getting tired of having a complete psycho running the country.
