Cambridge, Md. -- The eavesdropping tables were turned on President Bush on Friday. The president apparently believed he was speaking privately when he talked about listening in without a warrant on domestic communications with suspected al-Qaida terrorists overseas. But reporters were the ones doing the listening in this time.

The incident happened at a House Republican retreat. After six minutes of public remarks by the president, reporters were ushered out. "I support the free press, let's just get them out of the room," Bush said,

His private statements were basically no different from what he's said in public.

So, what makes this newsworthy? Is the Liberal Media hoping the headline will incriminate Bush?

"I support the free press," Don't tell that to us knuckle-dragging conservatives that make up you base, Mr. President."

"His private statements were basically no different from what he's said in public." I'm shocked. He'll never win a third term if he keeps disappointing us Bible thumpers like this.

In CA, weren't radical libs caught scheming to crash the state govmt., (or some such) with an open mic?

I recall when they were told the mic was on, Liz Figeroa or someone said "Oh, Sh*t!!" or something to that effect.

Of course, the MSM barely made a blip of this.

Did the press have a warrant to engage in domestic spying on the President?

Just asking...

Remember, the President had tapes revealed not too long ago by a "friend". They showed him to be the same man in private he is in person. Yet apparently the MSM can't bring themselves to believe this is the case.

"privately when he talked about listening in without a warrant on domestic communications with suspected al-Qaida terrorists overseas"

I'm surprised you people missed this piece of bias.

Its NOT "listening without a warrant on domestic communications with suspected al-Qaida terrorists overseas".

It's listening to overseas communications without a warrant in which sometimes those overseas communications occasionally send or recieve a call from the United States.

"That allowed journalists back at the White House to eavesdrop on Bush's defense of the eavesdropping."

Don't the reporters need a warrant before for they can listen in?

So why is this a news story?!?!----

After what they and we got used to from the last administration, that IS why this is a news story.
