"If John McCain makes it through the GOP primaries, it really won't matter who the Democrats nominate." If McCain is the GOP nominee - any Democrat could win..
McCain at the top of the GOP ticket, will force lots of Republicans/Conservatives/Veterans to stay home.

If McCain is the GOP nominee -I don't know how that could be. Dems like him; GOPers don't. We don't have many states with open primaries, do we?

If McCain is the GOP nominee - any Democrat could win.. McCain at the top of the GOP ticket, will force lots of Republicans/Conservatives/Veterans to stay home. With all due respect, if McCain is at the top of the ticket, he will not need Republicans to defeat Hillary. He will get around 50% of Rs, 80% if Independents, and 30% of D votes against her. So that even if staunch conservatives stay home, he will win.
