If McCain is the GOP nominee - any Democrat could win..

McCain at the top of the GOP ticket, will force lots of Republicans/Conservatives/Veterans to stay home.

I don't know how that could be. Dems like him; GOPers don't. We don't have many states with open primaries, do we?

With all due respect, if McCain is at the top of the ticket, he will not need Republicans to defeat Hillary. He will get around 50% of Rs, 80% if Independents, and 30% of D votes against her. So that even if staunch conservatives stay home, he will win.
