O.K. Here's the deal.
Could some creative FReepers combine THAT image (above, with the Vulcan salute) with THIS face (below) from fpc.state.gov?
I met with Ambassador Prosper last night, and he appears to be the PERFECT candidate to be California's new Attorney General, or possibly even to replace Dianne Feinstein as our Senator.
Either way, we will have a HUGE uphill fight -- since his is not yet a household name -- so we will need to generate as much FREE publicity as we can get, to help get the word out about this EXTRAORDINARILY well-qualified candidate.
One way to do this might be to get more name recognition by working with his non-traditional LAST NAME: "Prosper." In particular, I REALLY like the idea of linking him to Star Trek's Mr. Spock, whose trademark salutation, of course, is:"Live Long, and PROSPER!"
What we need is someone with more artistic talent than I have -- to design a possible LOGO for Ambassador Prosper -- perhaps using an image like THIS one, from mario.lapam.mo.it:

Former U.N. prosecutor seeks GOP nominationBy Andy Furillo -- Bee Capitol Bureau
Published 2:15 am PDT Tuesday, October 18, 2005
Story appeared on Page A3 of The BeeA former Bush administration official has taken out papers to challenge state Sen. Charles Poochigian for the Republican nomination for state attorney general, a spokeswoman for the new candidate said Monday.
Pierre-Richard Prosper had served in President Bush's State Department as ambassador-at-large for war crimes issues until he recently departed the administration to enter the attorney general's race, spokeswoman Elizabeth Blackney said.
The Denver-born Prosper, 42, had previously served in the Clinton administration as a top assistant in the criminal division of the Department of Justice and as special counsel and policy adviser to the war crimes ambassador.
Prosper also is a former United Nations war crimes prosecutor who obtained a 1998 genocide conviction against a local official named Jeal-Paul Akayesu who allowed Hutu police to rape and murder Tutsi women during the ethnically based Rwandan civil war, according to his official State Department biography.
From 1994-96, Prosper served as a drug prosecutor for the U.S. attorney's office in Los Angeles. Before that, he worked five years as a Los Angeles County deputy district attorney, including two years he spent in the Hardcore Gang Division...

I like his last name, but what about Pierre? What can be done with that?
PhotoShop help needed! Pierre PROSPER to run for CA Attorney General, or against Dianne FeinsteinAmbassador Prosper said nothing last night about a possible Senate run...
...but check out THIS compelling analysis......from Legal Pad (The blog of CalLaw.com):
Rumor du jour: Prosper versus FeinsteinRepublicans may have found a sacrificial lamb to challenge incumbent U.S. Sen. Dianne Feinstein in next years election.
Conservative blog California Campaigns cites swirling rumors that Pierre Prosper will bail out of the attorney generals race so he can run instead for the U.S. Senate.
Prospers fledgling campaign dismissed the blogospheric chatter as uninformed gossip. But the notion does raise some intriguing possibilities for state Republicans looking for a little good news after the disastrous special election and Gov. Arnold Schwarzeneggers recent naming of a Democrat as his chief of staff.
First, Prospers departure from the AGs race would thrill Californias GOP party activists, many of whom were peeved when the former ambassador-at-large for war crimes announced late this summer that he would challenge popular state Sen. Chuck Poochigian, R-Fresno.
Poochigian, the races only other high-profile Republican, has already sewn up the endorsements of every prominent state GOP official. And hes built a $2 million campaign war chest money he hoped to stash away while Oakland Mayor Jerry Brown and L.A. City Attorney Rocky Delgadillo duke it out in the Democratic primary.
Second, the Republicans need a candidate. Los Angeles businessman Bill Mundell dropped out last week, citing Feinsteins $5.2 million campaign kitty. It probably didnt help that a Field Poll showed DiFi walloping him by a 26-point margin.
Third, Prosper would bring a fresh look to a party still dominated by white men. The son of Haitian immigrants, Prosper has law-and-order credentials as a former federal prosecutor in L.A. And he has ties to the White House, claiming campaign support from former Secretary of State Colin Powell.
Any campaign, no matter how quixotic, would certainly put Prosper in good stead with state Republicans and raise his name ID among voters two big pluses for someone running for office in, say, 2008.
And then theres this take: Lets face it, we probably wont win, wrote Art Pedroza, the right-leaning editor of The Orange Juice blog. Why not at least score some points with the media and with minority groups?

Actually we already have a "perfect" candidate, Senator Poochigian who is a well-liked and trusted conservative. He's been an announced candidate for AG for over a year.
You don't like Dick Mountjoy in the Senate race?
Chuck Poochigian is running in the AG primary race... but the more the merrier.
Both likely have more name recognition than Pierre in SoCal and Sacramento, albeit his work in the LA legal arena some years ago..
Good luck!
I like his last name, but what about Pierre?LOL!What can be done with that?
FWIW, his parents are from HAITI, not FRANCE. :o)And, it appears that his OFFICIAL name is:
Pierre-RICHARD Prosper.
Actually we already have a "perfect" candidate, Senator Poochigian who is a well-liked and trusted conservative. While I REALLY like Ambassador Prosper's qualifications...He's been an announced candidate for AG for over a year.
...I also appreciate to your considerable experience within the goofy world of California politics.Do you really think that Poochigian can beat "Governor Moonbeam" for Attorney General?
Haitian and not French. THAT'S HELPFUL!
Ok, P. Richard Prosper. I like that!
*petronski is a photoshop pro*
He came from Haiti (a former French colony) at age 6- can't do much about that.
His name is Pierre RICHARD Prosper.
Brown hasn't won a serious election since 1978. He's been mayor of the far, far left bastion of Oakland. Pooch is from the Central Valley the area with the greatest growth in voters over the past decade. Chuck is well-liked by Reps and Dems alike. They won't be able to demonize him. He's just too nice of a guy, people feel it when they see him or meet him.
Are you interested?
I thought he said he came with his parents from Haiti when he was 6?
We also already have a candidate for Senate to run against Feinstein, former State Senator Dick Mountjoy.LOL!
Shows you how much that **I** know about the "smoke-filled backrooms" of California politics!
Are the guys who have annointed Pachoogian and Mountjoy the same ones who gave us Bill Simon and Bill Jones?I am certainly getting tired of LOSING races around here. :(
Where do YOU recommend that an extraordinary candidate like Prosper run?Besides, what is the purpose of having a PRIMARY election, if the fix is already in?
He's very good looking, that could get him some female lib votes.
Pooch is from the Central Valley the area with the greatest growth in voters over the past decade.Your opinion about the AG race seems to be shared by others, like THIS guy, from www.calraces.comChuck is well-liked by Reps and Dems alike. They won't be able to demonize him. He's just too nice of a guy, people feel it when they see him or meet him.
Ambassador Prosper for US Senate
Posted by Matt Rexroad - Monday, January 23, 2006Here are some assumptions I have made --
If Poochgian has to spend a sizable chunk of his campaign treasury to beat Prosper in the primary but then comes up just short in November, Prosper will be partially blamed for the loss.
- Senator Poochigian has the resources, support, and background to be a great Attorney General
- PIerre Richard Prosper is a bright articulate political new-comer to California
- Prosper will lose the June primary for Attorney General to Poochigian
- With all due respect to Senator Mountjoy, Republicans need a focused articulate nominee for US Senate
- Prosper knows he is going to get beaten by Poochigian but is trying to create future options
- The Governor needs a good team player for US Senate on the ticket with him
- The President doesn't want a Republican US Senate nominee that will be shooting at him
- Poochigian needs all the money he can get to take on Oakland Mayor Jerry Brown
It seems pretty simple to me that a guy coming out of the federal system, that is seeking to build his political resume', and would like to be involved in California poltiics would be a better fit to run for the US Senate than he would be by upsetting the party structure challenging Poochigian.
I'm not sure why this isn't a slam dunk. The Prosper for US Senate campaign would be good for Prosper, the President, the Governor, Poochigian, and the entire Republican Party. It just needs to happen. If Prosper doesn't see this then he doesn't have the political vision necessary to be a leader in the Republican party.
Rexroad helped me move my piano from one side of Elk Grove to the other 7 years ago. He's a good guy.
