Cattle kills by wolves cost ranchers $20,000

confirmed killed by wolves...

the confirmed kills varied from the reported animal deaths and values, which came to 40 animals valued at roughly $40,000.

He cautioned people not to draw conclusions about the confirmed numbers, because unconfirmed kills are often those in which the livestock is discovered too late to actually identify, by tracks, tooth marks or other means, the actual cause of death.

Their agency is part of the Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) in the U.S. Department of Agriculture, though they often are mistaken for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, which is part of the Interior Department...

They could get some of those dogs that guard cattle from wolves like the Great Pyrenees.

Unless North American wolves are larger than European wolves.

Also Mules work well against coyotes and other snakes.

Just kick the heck out of a snake.

I had one of those dogs. Had a big grin on his face as he dared two coyotes to come fight him.

On the other hand, you obviously have never seen open range.

Yes I have and it is way different than where sheep and cattle are raised in Europe. A little hard to guard 1,000 head of cattle spread over many square miles.
