Head's up -- just got off of the phone with a polling organization (missed some of CSI, too!!) regarding Wal-Mart, unionization and local/state legistation regarding requiring "big box stores" to provide a certain percentage of income to employee benefits.
I must say the pollster was quite even-handed in presenting the questions. I couldn't tell by the nature of the questions who was paying for the poll - but I suspect it was probably Wal-Mart.
I will be interested in hearing from fellow FReepers the "results" of this poll, or whether anyone else has been contacted.
It doesn't matter....the states are going to pass laws forcing Walmart to do this....the unions can't stand not having those workers. They already did it in Maryland.....
I missed the end of CSI. Was Heather the hit person? what's with the Wolfowitz frozen body????
Wofowitz was a twin...
Heather was whipping the crap out of the twin, but Grissom stopped her (darn it)...
Heather and Grissom in a hug...fade to black.
If someone does not like the benefit package offered to employees at Walmart, then they can work for another business.
Why is this so difficult to understand?
I got polled the other day. They were asking all kinds of political questions and in the middle of it they asked about how often I shopped at Wal-mart. And they asked at the end whether I considered myself: born-again, or evangelical, or fundamentalist. I thought that both questions were totally irrelevant to the poll. It got me suspicious. When they asked what I considered the most important issues facing the US today, I got mine in: illegal immigration and welfare reform. I hope they choked on that one. The girl was very polite but I got the clear impression that she was a liberal.
