I thought it might be her age, but it may be that she is single too.

I know there has to be a reason for it because the Bushes would always do what was proper, and if it weren't proper, Barbara would not be without a veil.

Good morning OWF

About the lady in your church, obviously her theology is off-base as you mentioned, and we all tend to act on what we believe. When what we believe is untrue, then our behaviour is also out of whack. You probably saw other evidences though that she knew the Lord? I imagine those evidences resulted from her beliefs that *were* based on God's truth.

It all boils down to the fact that, in spite of being redeemed, we're still fallen creatures and will be until we enter our new and eternal Home. I'm afraid there's been behaviour I've exhibited that has NOT glorified my Lord, I'm very sad to say. My hope is that I have glorified Him more than I have not glorified Him. :)

Fallen creatures indeed..........and fighting that 'old nature' on a moment by moment basis.

Best thing to do is to stay in prayer and read God's word daily.........but even then, it's a battle.

That's one of the things I include in all my prayers for the President........that he stay deep in God's word and in prayer, and that he sense God's presence with him all the time. Keeps that old nature at bay, and he is doing the work of the Lord at a level that none of us ever will. He really needs our constant prayer.

I agree ... as I look at these photos in the Dose each day, I pray for him as I realize how much he is under attack by all that is evil. He's a good man who freely admits who His Lord is, and the evil in this world hates that and would love to destroy him and all the good that he can do because of his allegiance to Christ.

Thankfully, "greater is He that is in [GWB], than he that is in the world"! (I John 4:4)

Amen! That reality keeps me going when I start feeling oppressed by the evil attacks he is under.

The battle belongs to the Lord! WE just need to lift him up to the Lord every moment of every day!

Ahhh, thanks. Appreciate it. Love that whole family. I remember when the k's were in power...my goodness, every mag, book, tv, you name it had their photos. I want to see photos of the Bush family too. But, I know they avoid the press and don't blame them. I will have every book and publication regarding the beautiful Bush family in my library. :) Thank you. :)

Well, she has no class. None whatsoever. She was probably only there cause she had to be.

Jesus told us - "My people perish for lack of knowledge."

It's our responsibility to choose to believe what the Bible says. However, in some churches the MEAT of the Word is not taught. People are moved by feelings instead of faith.

I can give you some examples - but I have to dash off to work - I'll get back to you later!

There are so many different kinds of people in any given congregation.

I wonder what this lady was like when she was young? Sorry if wrong, but I guessed that she is older...not saying extremely old - don't know...she just sounds like some older people I know.

People can be afflicted by some bitterness from a past bad experience, from life-long or recent emotional, psychological or physical conditions that can impact them even if they believe in Christ.

It is tempting to think that THAT should overcome everything (if they are pursuing the truths of Jesus Christ), but I know from observation and even personal family experience that it does not always.

My mother was once entirely different than now and she has Dementia. She exhibited some troubling and out of character aspects of herself some years before we had a hint that she had Dementia. Looking back now, they could have been forerunners of what she has become.

Dementia changes the equation entirely. This woman was probably only in her 50's when I met her 30 years ago, and she was that way then. NEVER a kind word to anyone, only criticism. No 'sweet aroma'......EVER.

Since I don't go to the same church any more, I don't know what she's like now in her 80's. My guess would be worse.
