Oh they displayed character all right. The kind of character that average decent people reject. Let 'em keep it up.

Really, why should we worry that the Dems are imploding? Are we afraid of a moron vacume?

What is as appalling to me as the disrespect that Carter and Lowery exhibited yesterday is that no members of the Dems have come forward as yet to denounce their behavior. Everyone of them I've heard comment on it have defended it. They have no shame.

I wonder if Sen. Chris Dodd wanted his hero, Robert Byrd, to speak at the C.S. King funeral. I am sure he could offer some interesting stories of those early days of the civil rights movement.

Senator Dodd, along with the outraged liberals who now dominate his party, is dead wrong; it's not their voice they are losing, it's their minds.

Bingo. Well-said, Michael.

Hatred is the lifeblood of the Left.

...with ignorance in lieu of red blood cells, petulance in lieu of the white cells, and slander replacing platelets.

Exactly! The moderates in that party need a champion badly. They need somebody who is willing to wrest back control yet nobody steps up. I fear that the moonbat left has grown powerful enough that a party split is unavoidable. It just remains to be seen if will be the angry-left or the moderates who will leave first.

[In a tear-streaked story in the New York Times bemoaning the inability of the Democrats to exploit what they see as the GOP's many weaknesses and use them to win back control of Congress in this year's congressional elections,...]

Incredibly, the Democrats appear to have gotten into the habit of using their weaknesses to attack the Republican's strengths.

[Sen. Chris Dodd (D-Conn) sobbed that the health of his far-left Democratic Party is "A lot worse than it should be. This has not been a very good two months."]

And they continue to underestimate the magnitude of their problems. Their party has had fundamental problems for a lot more than two months.

["We seem to be losing our voice when it comes to the basic things people worry about," Dodd said.]

If your party would simply develop some ideas along the lines of responsible governance as a legitimate alternative to the Republican party instead of "Republicans are evil, vote for us and we'll stop them." rhetoric, then you might eventually earn back the respect of voters.

Because our system needs a loyal opposition, not this bunch of losers, or the repubs will backslide.

The Democrats are going to need one more a**kicking in a federal election before they finally learn what's really wrong with them as a party.

You think they would have learned their lesson after the first funerally. But then again, these are the RATS we're talking about.

Those present at the memorial who were taken in by the partisan hatred should feel both asahmed of themselves and anger at the race-baiters who perverted Mrs. King's memorial service into another Paul Wellstone disaster.

It was shameful, despicable behavior in the face of a woman whos dignity and grace will forever outlive them all.

"Hatred is the lifeblood of the Left. Always has been."

But... but... Al Gore was the inspiration for "Love Story".

Come to think of it, I didn't see him at the funeral? Was he keeping a low profile, because his father filibustered the Civil Rights Act?

That's Gore,Sr. on the left, beside Armand Hammer.

It just remains to be seen if will be the angry-left or the moderates who will leave first.

It will be just like the Republicans. They have stayed put but a good many conservatives have left.

I keep thinking that too but I wonder if they will be able to convince themselves yet again that the *real* reason they lost was because it was stolen, or because the Greens screwed them, or the media is against them (LOL!) or they got "swift boated" or so on and so on...

The Democrats seem to be able to supply an endless number of excuses for their own failures, but there must be SOME point where reality intrudes.
