Can't seen to find the beer in my small town.

Can't find Carlsburg? I'm in DC area. Easy to find in Maryland burbs.

Just spoke to a woman at the Denmark Embassy in D.C.

Expressed my support and told her there were many Americans supporting Denmark.

I've emailed my support to the Danish embassy in D.C. and apparantly a lot of other people sent in their thoughts as well. There is a statement on their website thanking people for their input, saying they got opinions on both sides and that they had met with several groups of Americans on this. SPECIFICALLY MUSLIM ONES. I was none to pleased to see that but we can't blame the Danish people for their suck-up diplomats. I mean, look at ours.

[Check this site
www.danishfood.net/Shopping]

It's not as if I haven't been including that URL as the tag line to all of my above posts. :-)

Those people wrote me a really nice letter two days ago, thanking me for sending them a wave of new customers. They aren't used to this popularity from abroad.

In other words, it's not as if the Muslims were rushing to the Internet to buy Danish products from Danish Food Dot Net before the "crisis" and then suddenly decided to boycott the website.

This "reality" crosses over to almost every other business/industry: the buying power of the Middle East is lower logorythmically to the buying power of more mature regions. A pro-Denmark buying spurt by Americans will much more than make up for lost Muslim business.

You're forgetting the buying power of the Gulf.

Further proof why the EU will not work.Any chance of danger and they start stabbing themselves in the back for fear of reprisals. France and the swiss should be ashamed to stab their brother in the back.

[You're forgetting the buying power of the Gulf.]

I've never seen it. I assume it does exist, but I also assume that the Gulf trade is largely won via bribes and connections and it would be heavy on yachts and other luxuries for the priveleged. No industrial sales power. In my sales career I have seen the following power. No matter what country you produce in and no matter what industry you are in, your sales makeup might look like this:

USA: 60% of your sales
UK: 10%
Germany: 10%
Rest of EU: 5%
Japan: 5%
Australia: 5%
Rest of World: 5%

Heaviest hitters in the "rest of world" category would be Russia and the Baltic States of Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia...and then South Africa and Israel. New Zealanders buy from Australian distributors. Greenlanders and Icelanders buy from Danish distributors, etc, etc. Salespeople in this world have a fairly standard trek.

If you had to choose between the entire Muslim world market and the Israeli market...it would be a tossup, even though the population differences are enormous.

That being said, Dubai is the place to go to if you want entry to the Muslim world markets.

Danish ham is available in most supermarkets. It's lean and delicious, and of course the Moslems hate it.

That's pretty small. Well, maybe when you drive to one of the larger burgs you can find Carlsburg beer. Good luck.

The burgs around DC just keep going and going. My brother lived in La Plata MD. Took us about one hour in good traffic to get to DC. Oye.
