Tancredo Throws Punches at Bush
Human Events ^ | February 9 2006 | Robert B. Bluey

Posted on 02/09/2006 12:18:44 PM PST by Reagan Man

Rep. Tom Tancredo (R.-Colo.) didn’t hold back in his criticism of President Bush this morning at the Conservative Political Action Conference—delivering what amounted to a presidential stump speech that could have easily been delivered in New Hampshire or Iowa.

Tancredo attacked the administration for its support of a guest-worker program for illegal aliens and its big-spending ways on education and Medicare prescription drugs.

“It is the President who is out of step with his party, not Tom Tancredo,” the Colorado Republican said to applause at the Omni Shoreham Hotel in Northwest Washington, D.C.

Tancredo called for the repeal of two programs offered by President Bush: the No Child Left Behind Act and the Medicare prescription drug program. Both expanded the cost of government and drew the scorn of conservatives in Congress.

Tancredo said the Big Government policies of the Bush administration need to be halted. He said conservatives must return the GOP to a “party of individual rights and shouldn’t afraid to say it.”

"Happy with the status quo?"

Hell no!

His "guest worker" BS is worse.

I don't hate him. I never said the word hate nor did I want to imply "hate".

I just think that if he is the "only hope" for the GOP, the GOP is screwed as he isn't even a marginal Presidential candidate much less an ideal one or, I hope the "only hope".

but not hate.....that's way out of line.

Oh, whereas lying to the sixth district in Colorado isn't an injustice to them

Empirical evidence would suggest that they didn't consider it to be such.

Show me where that happened to Lil' Tommy. Who did he make a mutual promise with?

Whoever else pledged to hold himself to term limits, but reneged. Since the people of his district didn't mind, the only other people who would would be his adversaries, who might have been counting on seeing him leave. But since they also didn't hold up their end, they had no right to any legitimate expectation of that from him.

You havent put any thought into immigration at all? You must have youve already decided that Tancredos bill is irrational. So what would be rational?

Just like Clintoon. Nice company he's keeping, eh?

LOL. Damn you, Mister X! Damn you to hell, for making such a good man break his word!

And since you're still unable to back up your own "lying" charge, your assessment would be worth...what?

I backed it up. The president stated he was against amnesty. ReaganMan stated the president was in favor of it.

The president's credibility and integrity outscores ReaganMan's by 100%.

ReaganMan is a fraud. Nothing he says reflects Ronald Reagan's 11th Commandment. His posts are a disgrace to RR's memory.

Have fun defending the lying sack.

It must require some pretty strong meds to deny what you said here. Beyond my willingness to attempt.

I must have? Well, I think Tancredo is irrational - how's that?

By the presidents definition there are no bills currently pending that would qualify as "amnesty". Not even McKennedy.

Gee, I'm reading as closely as I can, and I just don't see anything about his "effectiveness", pro or con, in there. I'm sorry, but I really can't support or refute posts that only exist in your imagination.

You don't have to compare Bush's words to Reagan Man's. All you have to do is compare them to his actual proposals. Simple enough.

>>>>You need to come on home to the Day in the Life thread and abandon these losers.

That would be "A Day in the Life of President Bush", or would that be, a day in the life of Bush sycophants.

Calling people losers because they want to discuss political issues, shows you have no real interest in what happens in this nation. That makes you the real loser. However, I don't think you really care what I say. The feeling is mutual.

So, go to the love Bush threads and leave the heavy lifting to real conservatives.

You're still stuck on these words "making" and "forcing". And then you accuse me of being on powerful substances for allegedly seeing things that aren't there.

So the Tancredistas are now saying that principles be damned if he gets the votes to maintain power. Hmmm ... they didn't always think so!! Let's look back a couple hundred posts:

To: You Dirty Rats
"He's [Tancredo] going to find himself out of the room when the deals are cut."
It's called "Principle over Power" -- an apparent foreign concept to the smoky backroom whores of the GOP.

182 posted on 02/09/2006 6:48:02 PM EST by F16Fighter

"Power over Principle" apparently extends to the Tancredo apologists' view of his "John F. Kerry" on self-imposed term limits: "I actually was for term limits ... before I was against them!"

Whatever. At least Tancredo doesn't throw punches from a Swiss Resort. Then again, Colorado has better skiing.

LOL!! Because I had a beef with a couple of the zebras' calls in the Super Bowl, Stealers' fans have been saying I don't know anything about football.

Your line above is in the same vein. The only people who care about what "goes on in this nation", in your world, appear to be those who do nothing but wring their hands over immigration.

Like those Pittsburgh fans who just cannot stop gloating, you do yourself and your views no good service by your hostility.
