Democrats cast as party of 'angry left'

NEW YORK (AP) -- The Republican national chairman this week suggested Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton is too "angry" to win the White House in 2008. And to hear Republicans tell it, Mrs. Clinton is just one of many Democrats with an anger-management problem.

Former Vice President Al Gore is angry. So is Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid. The party is held hostage by the "angry left."

In recent months, Republican operatives and officeholders have cast the Democrats as the anger party, long on emotion and short on ideas. Analysts say the strategy has been effective, painting Democrats' differences with the GOP as temperamental rather than substantive.

Carl Rove needs to be out-front and center 24/7 - it would send the dems screaming and reinforce the anger philosophy!

Don't forget the face of the swimmer on the Alito vote.

Who could forget? It's a hall of fame-er - right up there with Gore rolling his eyes and sighing 'cause he's sooooo superior. And Dean screaming like a madman -- Hillary doing the crazy fishwife nag/rant.

Who could forget any of it?

Especially Kennedy -- Kennedy with the strange twisted logic of a mind pickled for decades, panting with the tired bored rage of a has-been brain-dead bully. Memorable. Totally memorable.

The only people left that will support the Democrat Party are those who are pissed off that socialiasm is losing here in America. The rest have seen the anti-American left for what it is.

Well said wallace. The Internet web sites and radio talk shows have had a tall task in countering the countless television broadcasts and print media outlets.

I think the majority of Americans really pay little attention to politics and what is going on around them until it affects them directly. People have HAD to pay attention to the Terror War and Border issues for example because the noise level has risen to unprecedented levels. People have had to take a side because these things have jumped up and slapped them "upside their heads."

I think the biggest issue that the Left faces nowadays is the fact that anger as political policy will have dire consequences.

Don't they remember how the angry rhetoric of one Adolf Hitler over Germany's defeat in World War I led to the rise of Nazi Germany, millions dead from direct warfare and ten million dead from systematic genocidal mass murder? Or that the rise of the Bolsheviks through their angre rhetoric resulted in Soviet Union, where in the end the policies of Lenin, Stalin and later Soviet leaders may have killed over 50 million Soviet citizens for political purposes? Or where a similar rise in Communism in China may have killed 70 million Chinese?

A famous saying goes that Those who forget the past are doomed to repeat it. It appears today's Left have forgotten the horrors Leftist regimes did to the world in the 20th Century.

Rove could do it - but with dems like they are, all we have to do it step back and keep out of their way. They're doin' it to themselves.
