In some form or fashion, I have known the players in what I am about to describe as a series of regrettable moments at the funeral of Coretta Scott King.
The one I know least, President George W. Bush, won both my sympathy and respect for gallantly enduring the slings and arrows pointed directly at him during what should have been a celebration of a great woman, but instead turned into a political rally

If you think Bush got slammed at the funeral, he would have been slammed ten times more had he not gone.

This was the most disgusting occurrence at the "funeral" IMO. Jimmy Carter, the sorriest President this nation had in the 20th Century, dared to take a swipe at a sitting, war-time President. Jimmy Carter wouldn't make a decent scab on George W. Bush's ass.

It takes a lot more guts to deal with those who hate you on a day to day basis because you realize you are President for all of America than to take revenge on your critics because you have a position of power.
Bush is stronger and has more class that anyone else who attended the funeral (except maybe for his wife), and the whole nation saw it.
They have gotten the upper hand by doing exactly what so upsets you. Life ain't perfect, by any stretch, but conservatives are doing better than we have in quite a while.
By being there, saying incredibly thoughtful and loving words, and behaving as a Christian gentleman, he showed people who he really was..........no matter whether they admit it or not.
THIS is the image of George W. Bush that every American should see..........
I am no Bush hater, believe me, but I just think he should entirely shut out the liberals: no press club banquets, no interviews to the MSM, no soirees with Hollywood leftiies, etc. If these people want to see the inside of the White House, let them go to Barnes and Noble or Borders and buy a book.

Some of us don't believe that as a Christian, that's possible.
I understand your point of view, but think of the added attack on him that shutting them out entirely would result in. He is a results oriented leader, and he will use the means necessary to get the results he wants...........and sometimes that means being amenable to people who despitefully use you.
As for that Clinton thing........if you think about it, it's going to hurt Hillary big time. Every time the President refers to Bill as 'his brother,' Hil loses more leftist support. I think they're neutralizing the debauched one's effectiveness as well...........and perhaps being a positive influence on a man who's never had one in his sorry, pathetic, vile life.
What the heck qualifies Coretta Scott King for the Presidential presence at her funeral?? Why the heck was she laid out in state in the White House??

This morning FOX news had some Wacko "Evangelical" minster on wailing about Christ's concern for the poor and that is the reason we should be concerned about "global warming".
As soon as a minister, priest or rabbi crosses the line between theology and politics, his church should be taxed.
Its the only way to shut these jerks up and get them back to their correct priorities.

I still don't think she rated a Presidential presence or a position in the White House.
And again, I think tax free status should be jerked from any minister, priest, rabbi or imam who uses his pulpit for political purposes.
She laid in state at the Georgia State Capitol Rotunda in Atlanta.
Her husband was an American leader (whether you like it or not), and it was entirely appropriate for him to be there.
