Try shooting a box of 20 Hornady .454 Casull 300 gr at 1500 fps. Your palms sting from being slapped like a baseball bat. Your whole body has a nervous quiver for a few hours.

You think that's bad? Try to get your bearings after having both barrels of an o/u fire within a quarter second of each other. The shotgun was messed with by the local "gunsmith" (I use the term as loosely as possible) who I asked to install some chokes and look at the recoil cocking system.

Get a Knoxx Spec-Ops stock for your 870. Ruins the classic shotgun lines, but will reduce recoil to M4 status.
