"Our VP was oppressing Leahy that day in a most rigorous and truthful way."
When the oppression is richly deserved - is it still an oppression? Besides, the dose administered at the time seems to have worn out. Time to repeat.

Das stimmt!
Wann ich kann in Deutchland besuchen. Ich spreche Deutch.
I may not speak it well but I make every effort to do so. I am a guest in their country. IT IS A MATTER OF RESPECT.
I get pretty fired up on the language thing.

When the oppression is richly deserved - is it still an oppression? No, I forgot the quotation marks and maybe a sarcasm tag for oppression. Leahy deserved it, he is an unquestionable ______head.

"Other exhibits incorporated multimedia presentations including the white privilege room, which played the 2005 film Crash."
So they're just assuming that because I'm white I have "privilege". So good to know these people never stereotype anyone.

"No tears for queers" and "Thank God for AIDS," were featured in the homophobia display....
It's not homophobia, few people are afraid of queers. The correct term is homonauseous.

Wann ich kann in Deutchland besuchen. Ich spreche Deutch. What really pissed me off is when Germans would recognize my American accent and switch to speaking English. I know they're being nice and/or want to practice their English, but I wanted to practice my verdammt German.
To: Patriot62
Ya wanna learn about oppression in America? Light up a cigarette inside the exhibit. You'll learn more than you ever wanted to know about the subject.

OH MY!
This is EXACTLY like the South park episode with the intollerace death camp!
Are the leftists this stupid or is this some kind of April Fools joke?
To: EveningStar
South Park fans should faintly hear the Ballad of Lemmiwinks when looking at the tunnel in post 28

I have been complimented numerous times because I don't have an American accent. But that has an opposite affect.
If the person does not know, ich bin Amerikaner, they will speak to me fast and I get way over my head for my language skills.
Then I have to wie bitte, and ich verstehe sie nicht until I tell them I am American.
What I like about Germans is they warm up to me very quickly when they realize I am trying to speak their language and be respectful. They will say, "I understand because German is a difficult language to learn."
It is a matter of trying. When I encounter , errr, non citizens here that don't even try, it bothers me.

Good for both of you and I agree with your sentiments. Ich habe Deutsch in der Hochschule und der Universitat studieren. I never got less than an "A." I would have relished the opportunity to go to Germany and practice my German.
You would think people coming to live in America permanently would see it among many things as an opportunity to learn a new language. Many of them don't.
