I may not speak it well but I make every effort to do so. I am a guest in their country. IT IS A MATTER OF RESPECT.
I get pretty fired up on the language thing.
What really pissed me off is when Germans would recognize my American accent and switch to speaking English. I know they're being nice and/or want to practice their English, but I wanted to practice my verdammt German.
