08 February 2006, 18:00 Yushchenko slams reprinting of Muhammad cartoons in Ukraine

Kiev, February 8, Interfax - President Viktor Yushchenko has condemned a Ukrainian newspaper for reprinting some of the caricatures of the Prophet Muhammad that have sparked protests by Muslims across the world.

"We regard any publication and any material or action that could insult people's national or religious beliefs as inappropriate and the Ukrainian president condemns any manifestation of intolerance and xenophobia," presidential spokeswoman Iryna Herashchenko told a news conference in Kiev on Wednesday after the paper Syohodni reprinted the cartoons.

Yushchenko was doing his best to achieve religious and interethnic harmony in Ukraine, she said.

What is the opinion of the American leadership?

The opinion of the American leadership is that articles posted on FR dealing with the Ukraine are mostly the result of Russian discomfort with what's going on there.

First you complain that Crimean muslims are being "oppressed" by the Christian Ukrainians, now you want to salm them for adopting Putin's appeasenik attitude on this issue? Make up your mind, comrade.

"The Russian leader said the publication of offensive images could not be justified by invoking slogans of press freedom and that the states where the Mohammed cartoons had been printed or reprinted should at least apologize for failing to prevent it." - LINK

Interesting as the vast majority of articles posted on FR about Ukraine are posted not by Ukranians, and not by Russians and not even by Americans.

The vast majority have been posted by Polish citizens who don't even live in America.

Care to check that assertion against articles coming under the keyword "Ukraine" on FR this year?

You are a liar, no doubt about that… Somehow statistics show that Polish input is minimal and your completely dominant!

Last 20 articles with keyword “Ukraine”

13 x5452 and jb6, both claim to be Americans with Russian wives
3 Tailgunner an American
2 Lizol who is Polish
1 A.Pole, Russian-American who claims to be Polish
1 Mazepa who is Ukrainian

It doesn't matter.

If the facts don't match x5452's vision of reality - the worse for those facts it is.

Try searching by title for Ukraine and Yushchenko.

Oh but an expert in propaganda like yourself WOULD ignore the facts.

“If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State."

Are you denying posting the articles in 14?

If it wasn't for your laziness at using keywords the gamut of your posting would be easier to search for.

Course then it'd be easy for folks to see your agenda.
