They swore they would never play in Tulsa again and I'm holding them to their word.

I kept hoping Mick would fall into the crowd by accident....

They used to be my favorite rock and roll band. Now, none of them are. I listen to talk radio.

No one pulls the plug on Mick...and no one plugs in Mohammed...
I guess you're damned if you do and you're damned if you don't.

"Greatest Rock-n-Roll Band in the World" , not even.
The Stones are the most overrated band in the world.
The albums that put out in the 70s were great, but as a live band they are marginal at best.I have many bootlegs of concerts and saw them in 81 and a couple of times since.
They need to hang it up- they were terrible at the SB.

I actually wondered about the line in question in Start Me Up when they started playing it. But then had kind of lost interest by the time we got to that point in the song.

Let's see, you are picking halftime acts in Detroit and you decide to have the Rolling Stones instead of some Motown acts. Some in Detroit needs to get a clue.
The only thing enjoyable about the halftime show was when a friend's young daughter asked why the old guys were singing Briney Spears' song Satisfaction.

The incident was reminiscent of the band's performance on "The Ed Sullivan Show" in 1967, when the host demanded the Stones change the lyrics to "Let's Spend the Night Together." As ordered, Jagger sang "let's spend some time together," but he rolled his eyes for effect.
Did anyone ever hear about the time The Doors played on Ed Sullivan's show? They asked Jim Morrison not to sing the lyrics "Girl, we couldn't get much higher" in the song Light My Fire.
Morrison ignored the request of Sullivan's producer and sang it anyway, leaning towards the camera as he sang the line. By all accounts, Sullivan and his production staff were not amused.

I still say they should have had the Motorcity Madman for half time.

Let's have all the original Geritol, Depends one liners, you parrots! Great for the Stones: collect the $5 mill and piss on the organizers. Fully in character.
(and for the record, I thought the performance was weak, though much of it due to bad sound mixing.) Anyway, what do you expect from stadium concerts? Rock'n'roll was made for intimate venues - see the early rock'n'roll movies.

Personally, if my team is in the Super Bowl, I couldn't care less about the halftime or pregame entertainment. Cut it out altogether. Have regular halftimees and play the game.

Next year I want to see Junior Brown do the halftime show.

Can't understand why there has to be filthy language in a song. It's supposed to be a song. Makes me think there really is no talent just foul words that draw some people to their music. We turned off the TV while they were on. Waste of electricity.
