Jimmy has to battle Clinton for the honors of worst President. It's almost a dead heat, but Jimmy's just plain stupid...while Clinton's a sociopath.

At least Clinton had the sense to keep Greenspan as Chairman of the Federal Reserve, rather than select a Keynesian who would have recklessly pumped money into the economy. Clinton also benefited from having the drunkard Boris Yeltsin in the Kremlin, rather than the old line Communist Brezhnev. For the first time since 1945, the USSR was no longer enemy number one. Another benefit was that his ambitious plans to socialize medicine failed, and the Republican Congress elected in 1994 curbed any further attempts on Clinton's part to expand social programs.

Clinton had the easiest foreign policy burden of any president since Hoover, and, like Coolidge, presided over a strong economy through almost his entire two terms. We are fortunate that this nation did not experience any major foreign or domestic crisis during the Clinton presidency.

Clinton had the benefit/restraint of a republican controlled congress for six of his eight years that kept him from driving the country into ruin. Jimmy had no such restraints and look at what happened.
