That's right! Wasn't Kennedy a *gasp* DEMOCRAT?!?!

Jimmy has jumped the shark. >:-(
I'm ashamed he was the first president I ever voted for
(in my younger uneducated days).

Oh, Lord, it's BC's turn and the crowd is going nuts.
God bless President Bush for having to sit in that mess!

Many of those tapes were of MLK arranging to commit adultery. Why would Carter bring up those tapes at Mrs. King's service? His children don't need to be reminded that their father was a serial philanderer.

These people are beyond disgust. Carter, for a so-called Christian, is one of the meanest, pettiest people I've ever seen---and it's funny that an Orthodox Jew told me that back in 1976 and I blew him off.

Not just by JFK, but by his (sob!) brother Bobby, AG at the time.

It was amusing to see fat Teddy up there at the podium lauding MLK and Mrs. MLK when his two brothers did their damndest to sink that trouble maker by having his phone converations and his sexual escapades tape recorded. They wanted to diminish King before he got too powerful and took over the black vote.

Only an opportunist like a Kennedy would pull a "Kennedy" at a funeral.

And Jimmy just opened the door to educate the nation as to who did the wire tapping and why. Not only will this sully the reputation of one of the country's most beloved presidents, it will also serve as a means to contrast the difference between JFK's and W's actions. W could have brought this up but he was too much the gentleman to do it, and he won't be the one pointing it out for the rest of the week, either. The 'Rats just keep stepping in it. Thank you, Jimmy.

Actually, I am very glad Carter did this.

He represents all that is right in the DNC.

We need more of this.

The problem in the Dem party is they can't keep their mouths shut.

I am amazed at their ignorance. Just got done watching Harman (CA) on Wolf Blitzer. my god, these people are soo stupid as to the laws. It is NOT that difficult. She was going on about "domestic wiretapping" being "unlawful". they dont listen to a thing being said! Bottom line is, do they want Al Queda stopped or not?

"Apparently, Jimmy is too stupid to know that it was JFK who wiretapped Martin Luther King."

They know, it was just inconvenient to acknowledge it. Mr. Carter becomes a smaller and smaller man everytime he opens his mouth. I don't know if he felt he was entitled to be remembered as a great president, and is bitter because he isn't or if he is slipping mentally, or what. He certainly is no credit to the great office he once held, and it is really sad.

I personally don't think Carter was ignorant of that rather significant fact. Like all Democrats he just thinks Americans have rather short memories, like the memory of his having presided over one of, if not THE worst presidency in the last century. You can bet your next paycheck that he'd like nothing more than Americans to not remember the disastrous Iranian Hostage crisis, the oil embargo, and the double-digit inflation and interest rates that impeded average Americans from buying decent homes.

Carter, along with Joseph Lowery, Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, Slick Willie and the other DemocRAT sycophants turned what could have been a touching tribute to a courageous woman into another Wellstone fund raiser/rally. Only President Bush and former President George H.W. Bush showed any kind of class.
