"Thousands Remember Coretta Scott King" ---------- I was watching Fox News and they showed Jimmy Carter speaking at Coretta Scott King's funeral, and sure enough, he started talking about illegal wire-tapping and other examples of government run amok. I am appalled that he would use this opportunity to bash the President, but not really surprised. :-(

I heard that blip on the news, too, as to Carter's son running for the Senate. Then I saw the photo of the sun and I went, "yeee, gaaads!"
Pretty ugly looking guy, I just have to say.
Yep, that's it!
Are you kidding? Christians have some of the most meanest, pettiest people I have ever seen. I should know I am a Christian. It just means Jimmah is more of the "God hates fags" type of Christian pointing at everyone elses faults rather than correcting their own.
What a pathetic POS...Thank God he only had one term...don't think the country would have survived a second!
You made my point. It's not personal hate. They don't personally hate all of "us". They just "hate" everyone on the other side. They would love Bush if he were a democrat.
We may just be arguing semantics but I see a distinction between hatred of a person compared to hatred of an idealogy. They don't hate Bush.
I'm not sure, but I think they do hate all of us.
According to the on-line encyclopedia: Carter "said things the segregationists wanted to hear," according to historian E. Stanly Godbold. Carter did not condemn Alabama firebrand George Wallace, and Carter's campaign aides handed out photographs of his primary opponent, showing (fellow Democrat Carl) Sanders associating with black basketball players.
Ha, not even literally, given that MRS. King is a female, and thus, "heroine" is the appropriate term if it was even the appropriate definition. I agree that it isn't.
I think she was a lady and a fine person. Rest in peace, Coretta Scott King.
But she certainl was NOT "the mother of the civil rights movement" or any such proportional thing. I do not, however, diminish her worth as a person of faith who appears to have tried to live her life by her beliefs, at least what I know about her.
All those superlatives and tags just diminish a person, rather than compliment them, at the time of their death, because it's mockery and theatrical and so inappropriate as to be insulting.
I've been to funerals and memorial services otherwise for people with a huge number of people in attendance, some even having to stand out in the front steps and street because no seating remained and I've yet to see anyone who sincerely cherished the life and works of one human being ever go on with theatricals and grandstanding.
It's literally insulting to the life they supposedly are there to revere.
Very, very disgusting usery by these Demos, in my view. The family ought to have had a closed door memorial service with A BAPTIST MINISTER conducting a religious service for Mrs. King, which I believe was her denomination.
All the rest, well, it's despicable.
OMGosh, I had forgotten the reason. What a disgusting thing to reference at her funeral!
Haven't read the whole thread. Did any of the 'Rats jump up on the casket and start dancing? Seriously...
Ummm...these people hate Bush because of who he is. He is ten times the man of any of the rest of these SOB's and they know it. They hate him because by his mere existence and day-to-day functioning he forces them to reflect on what degenerate inadequate losers they are and how they feel in comparison. Socialism is merely the vehicle for their hatred, as it is for all socialists.
I have just seen clips from the funeral. Jimmy Carter is not the only person to do much political bashing against the war and against Bush. This, of course, being brought to those who missed it, courtesy of cnn. Absolutely disgusting and Mr. and Mrs. Bush forced to sit through it.
Come election day we can count on 47% of the vote the Democrats 47% of the vote the battle is over the remaining 6%. Crap like this does not go over well with that 6%.
The Democrats must know this but they just can't help themselves.
"The left has no shame."
As with the Wellstone memorial Carter, the Clintons and the Left again sully a service dedicated to the passing of a human life. They have no respect for reverence, dignity or decorum.
They are cynicical, aging hippies who are still rebelling against their own perceived injustices by their parents and the society they loathe.
As a stark contrast between quiet dignity and grating disrespect, President Bush did well by remaining at the funeral service of the woman to whom he paid such honor as President of the United States.
If you can seriously answer that question, "yes," you're either delusionally naive or your definition of hatred is fundamentally different from mine, and the distinction isn't semantic.
I believe you've fallen into the trap of thinking that "other people are just like me." No. Some of them are very different. I wish no liberal harm; I wish them to fail utterly. They don't feel the same way about me. Go over to DU sometime and look at the things they write. I do NOT believe the political is personal. They do. They invented the slogan and popularized it because it summarizes their world view, which is fundamentally more emotional and less rational than ours.
It's common to project your own emotions onto others. They call us "haters" because that's what they are. It's hatred. It's real. Be prepared for the lengths to which it will drive them, which are every bit as far as a vendetta or a blood feud. I know there are some nutjobs on FR who're haters, but they're not the mainstream, even here.
Details please. I didn't watch much of this.
Nah, it's just that Christians attract more of the "meanest, pettiest insincerely affiliated people" we've all ever seen. They do so like to loiter around the dear Lord and oftetimes will lapse into their blasphemies and ridiculues of Him and His body, then try to again fade back into the crowd.
At least they are in proximinity, better near Jesus than afar from Him, but, as Christ says, "you will know them by their fruits..."
Carter is a vindictive, petty little weasel. The man sickens me. If I happened to see that little creep on the street, I'd be tempted to . . . well, never mind, I don't want to be banned.
