Let's be honest: Multiculturalism can kill a nation
James P. Pinkerton
The lesson of the Muhammad cartoon controversy is: Multiculturalism between nations is inevitable, but multiculturalism within nations is disastrous.
Protests, many of them violent, have erupted across the world - including Europe, Australia and New Zealand - after the appearance of cartoons depicting the Muslim prophet Muhammad in unflattering ways.
It's time for all of us to recognize that different cultures have different values. For the West, broadly speaking, the highest value is freedom, including freedom of religious expression. But for the Muslim world, the highest value seems to be Islamic piety. To draw such a distinction between West and East is not to endorse cultural relativism; it's simply to take note of cultural reality.
Not everyone thirsts for liberty. Plenty of people around the world, maybe most, thirst instead to restrict liberty. And so, if Muslim crowds can't kill the Muhammad-mocking Danish cartoonists for "blasphemy," they will settle for burning Western embassies, at least for now.
Even the government of Afghanistan - where Danish forces have contributed to Western "democracy-building" - joined in the protests. Afghan President Hamid Karzai, who would not be in power save for Western intervention, added his voice to the chorus: "Any insult to the Holy Prophet is an insult to more than 1 billion Muslims, and an act like this must never be allowed to be repeated."
It should be obvious that our effort to influence Muslim public opinion in a positive way has reached a dead end. That is, we advocate democratization but get Islamization. That process empowers the likes of Hamas in Palestine and Mahmoud Ahmadinejad in Iran.
Even Turkey, commonly regarded as the most democratic and pro-American Muslim country, is changing its stance.

Pre-war includes a lot of Irish, Italian and Chinese, who were at the time of their arrival not always well-accepted.
But I think I get your point. Back then we weren't told we had to immediately embrace the new cultures coming over. Their contributions to American culture in general came slowly over time as a natural result of people interacting, of cultural intermarriage, etc. Preference for the latter is one definition of conservatism.
It is not fine when, like everything else, it is taken to the extreme. Those who came here to be part of our unique culture and become a part of it, learn the language helped the country. When you bring in large numbers of sewer rats who have no desire to become part of our culture but to kill or convert then NONE of them should be allowed to stay. NONE. Period.
More and more we, thanks in great part to Ted "the swimmer" Kennedy, are allowing uncivilized people into this country and excluding or certainly not giving preference to those who can advance this country. We cannot all be Doctors but we also cannot all be sucking on the public tit.
The longest example of multiculturalism is probably Canada (with their Quebec region) and look how well they've gotten along.
I have no problem with the extension of immigration visas being contingent on showing an integration into American society.
The war has begun. Many need to decide which side they're on.

Integration into a culture is a naturally occurring phenom. It takes two, sometimes three generations -- as it did for the Irish and Jews.
Today, there is a new wrinkle that didn't exist at the turn of the century -- cheap communication and transportation back to the "old country," which makes those ties more difficult to break.
However, you can see traces of integration among recent immigrants in their children. It is not uncommon to see kids of immigrants wearing hip-hop clothing, listening to pop music and indulging in other American past times.
E pluribus unum. Good.
Multiculturalism. Bad.
I trust you don't expect mudslimes to follow this tradition! They do not want to integrate into this culture but destroy and or convert it. They may pretend to integrate but only so we drop our guard.
Islam is a dead end. That's why they're stuck in the ninth century.
So Taqquiya serves "the movement" and Muslim rage is just another big spoon for the left to stir the socialist pot. It doesn't matter whether Muslim masses recognize this or not as long as they don't recognize that they will be dispensable in the long run.
Some will and some won't. Certainly, the first generation born here won't be fully integrated into American culture.
I see your point, and I do think it is a matter of linguistic precision. I think we all agree on this.
"Multi-culturalism is the antithesis of natural rights and pluralism. It ends in tribalism."
Even my kids see this occurring in suburbia. They refer to nail tribes, the tattoo tribes, the piercing tribes etc when encountering these social clusters.
"We might not be able to change them, but we can keep them from changing us. "
Sadly, thus far we haven't been able to keep them from changing us...our freedoms are eroding thanks to these pigs.
It killed the Roman empire. Only then they called it "The Barbarian Invasions".
dispensable or disposable?
Either or both! To dispense those that will still be functional for the movement (work camps and gulags?) to needy sectors and dispose of the rest - if they aren't dispensed into soylent.
Busey must be on the outs with Hollywood, the way outs.
Not exactly a new concept...
Beats being a third-world country, like everything south of our borders...
