Eastern turkey near the Iranian/Iraqi borders is a fundamentalist breeding ground. The clerics in that region preach a lot of hate.

That area should never, EVER be allowed to join the EU.

Europe has to look forward to their priests being murdered and nuns being stoned to death if they allow Turkey into the EU.

I don't think the civilized world has yet come to terms with the magnitude of the problem. You are basically talking about millions of people who will have to be contained and dealt with. How can you do this without looking like a Nazi? You probably can't. Reaching consensus on such a thing will be near impossible. But eventually, if current trends continue, it will be a matter of survival.

What constitutes an insult to Islam? Basically, any non-Muslim is an insult to Islam.

Crucifixes, Bibles, Star of Davids, Hinduism (BIG no-no as they are "mushrikun" polytheists), Buddhism ("shirk" idolaters) as it's is all rejection of the shahadah "there is no god but allah and mohamMAD is his messenger." Human rights, equality between the sexes, the concept of "live and let live," asking for your land back after a muslim have beheaded your kin and stolen it, representing living forms, relaxing to have a beer, refusing to submit or be slaughtered, all come to mind. Quite a slippery slope here.

Above all... do not blaspheme against mohammad or reveal the truth about the man, his brutality or perversions, because its the foundation all the lies and the house of cards is based on. Enforcing elements of sharia in the west seems to be the answer to these clowns. It has the added benefit of leaving encouragement and a historical record of muslim settlements and achievements so the land can be claimed in jihad in years to come.

Yes, it was a quote from another poster I sent you because it seemed relevant to your comment re the options presented here.

Oh, I now understand that it is a quote from someone else. Actually, that of which we dare not speak, is more horrific than the mere threat of thermonuclear annihilation. The socialists, communists, and Marxists fear this weapon. It is so profound in its effectiveness that there is no mention of it in the Geneva Convention text.

I think that Turkey's chances of being admitted to the EU have gone down very considerably in the past few days. Sarkozy has offered some immigration and deportation measures that would have been unthinkable there a year ago. I can't imagine that the murder of an Italian Roman Catholic priest is going to go over well in Italy. The Dutch are unhappy. Undoubtedly many Danes are unhappy. Possible "no" votes are starting to add up.

none of this matters. there is simply too much money involved to end the war on terror by actually going after muslim terrorists.

since american taxpayers provide terrorists with money, arms, and the wherewithall to terrorize the world...and then the american govt gets to create new laws limiting freedom for americans. in addition to increasing defense and civilian contracts associated with the bogus war on terror...it's a win win for all those in the loop which includes the terrorists.

rule one: follow the money
rule two: follow the money
rule three: follow the money

besides cheap labor, which western europe seems to get anyway, I don't see a single reason for Turkey to become a member of the EU.

Their economy is always in the toilet. Unemployment rate that makes France look good. Lots of tribal sub-human savages living like its the 7th century in the eastern part of the country. Population close to 70 million people. Most who identify more with the middle-east than europe. Government that is moving backwards in democracy and rights of women.
