Update from Wispolitics.com--typical boilerplate explanation, just fill in the blanks:

Gov. Doyle: Statements of Gov. Jim Doyle and Gus Doyle Re: Gus' Drunken Driving Arrest
2/6/2006

Contact: Anne Lupardus, Office of the Governor, 608-261-2162

“Over the weekend, my son Gus made a very bad mistake. He is an adult and is fully accountable for his actions. He feels terrible about what he did, and he knows he will have to pay the consequences.

“Jessica and I do not condone drinking and driving, nor will we ever. Our son’s actions were unacceptable, and he is taking responsibility for them.

“Jessica and I are disappointed, but we love our son very much. We will deal with this matter as a family."

Statement of Gus Doyle

“Early Sunday morning, I made a terrible mistake and one for which I take full responsibility. I am deeply sorry for what happened, and I am going to own up to the consequences. Drinking and driving is unacceptable and dangerous, and I apologize to those I put at risk and for being irresponsible.”

Well, all is forgiven then, I guess. *Rolleyes*

Man, Doyle's PR people must be tied up in knots these days. If things go according to the standard way these things play out, a body should surface soon.

If you all don't hear from me daily, call Crimestoppers! ;)

Unless it's someone whose strings we can pull later or who is in a position to do us some favors on the back side...

The kid...is now a liability...and will actually have to be put threw the justice system...just to show that the Gov. is 'a fair man'...

I await his 'whats good for the goose is good for the gander' statement any day now...

And his makeup man person handy with the appropriate application of an artificial tear...

imo
