Good Monday morning, once again, fellow political jinkies. The NFL season may be over, but the political season inside the Beltway is 24/7/365. So join us, if you can, as those wacky Dems on the Senate Judiciary committee reprise their pitiful efforts to once again smear President Bush and score political points..

Rush just said the right thing -- this is exactly why the power is with one man - the president - the CIC. It can't be done by committee
Gonzales: Your question was whether the president had authorized conduct in violation of criminal statutes. And our position is that no, it's not in violation of the criminal statutes.
Feingold: When you answered this question before, you knew about this program. You wanted people to think this kind of program wasn't going on.
Gonzales: And the president had not authorized a program in violation of the law. (So he answered honestly and Feingold is too stupid to realize it).
Feingold: You were misleading the committee.
Feingold won't give it up
Did you hear him SPECULATE, that Gonzalez ASKED that he not have to be sworn in???
And when Specter said he didn't...Feingold just brushed Specter off...
All Feingold did was ask a "when did you stop beating your wife" question...to get it out there!!
What a worm...Just called him a LIAR AGAIN>
Feingolf just called the AG a liar.
Nice.
He's not implying..he's trying to PROVE he lied.
Feingold saying Gonzales lied to get appointed AG. Disgusting.
Feingold: Your view of the program stood until the NYT revealed the program.
Gonzales: You asked a hypothetical about the president violating the law.
Feingold: Mr. Chairman, the witness has taken mincing words to a new high.
ALL: But the meaning of the word "is" wasn't mincing words.
OMG. Once again, Gonzalez should just get up and walk out. How dare Feingold call him a liar.
Course -- dems no longer believe in the Constitution -- It is a living document that only means what we want it to mean today -- until we say it doesn't anymore
YES...Graham, DeWine and BROWNBACK...he said agreed with them that they didn't give that authorization when they gave him permission to go to war....
I can't believe that Brownback would take this position...
Hey Feingold .. would you like to say you didn't know about the program under oath ???
Feingold complains to specter that Gonzalez has "taken mincing words to a new high".
Feingold's pants must be incinerated at this point.
Feingold looks constipated... he ought'a get Fineswine to give him an enema.
Feingold: Admin. officials have been misleading in claims justifying the spying program. The president repeated these. He said that other presidents have used the same programs he has used. 1967 Katz case.
Gonzales: Yes, the SCOTUS found the 1967 Katz case was covered by the 4th Amendment. Presidents have relied on their constitutional authority during times of war. It doesn't mean that warrants are required in all cases.
Because of circumstances, searches without warrants are justified.
Feingold was trying to roll the AG and Al ain't goin' along. When an attorney ain't getting anywhere he just moves along. Feingold is a boob.
I know this is a bit off topic but I highly doubt Pres. Bush will pick another man for the SCOTUS. I think it will be a woman, if not a minority woman.
