Posted on 02/06/2006 6:08:53 AM PST by ken5050
Good Monday morning, once again, fellow political jinkies. The NFL season may be over, but the political season inside the Beltway is 24/7/365. So join us, if you can, as those wacky Dems on the Senate Judiciary committee reprise their pitiful efforts to once again smear President Bush and score political points..

But it could :)It could, but it isn't. Which is why I am not bothering to watch this sickening display of Republicans kowtowing to the minority.

Republicans aren't kowtowing; they are giving an education to anyone listening and making the president's case for this program.

What is the point of these hearings? Am I correct in understanding that they can and will not result in ending Bush's program anyway?

Feinstein: It comes as a huge shock when the president said in Buffalo last year that anytime you hear about a wiretap, it comes with a court order. (Trying to catch the president in a lie but isn't this the same group of people that didn't mind that Clinton lied).
This statement appears to be false, don't you agree?
Gonzales: No, Senator, I don't agree. He said he was referring to roving wiretaps. That discussion was about the Patriot Act and just before he made that statement you referred to, he used the words "roving wiretaps".
As you know, the president is not a lawyer, but it was a discussion about roving wiretaps and it's unfair to take his statements out of context. Exactly. In a "roving wiretap" on a U.S. person that person is the target of the action. The Bush admin has repeatedly made it clear that whenever a specific U.S. person becomes an intelligence target they go the FISA route. The terrorist surveillance program does not target U.S. persons, it targets the overseas communication in manner standard for monitoring enemy signals intelligence.
It's not plausible that a U.S. Senator cannot comprehend this. Apparently they can, however, pretend not to do so for political purposes.

Dems performing like a bunch of petty, uninformed idiots. Feinstein got served on a misquote.
Powerline asked a question of Durbin on CSPAN and embarrassed the heck out of him.

NewsWEAK?? The very first sentence they try to set the guy up as Jimmy Stewart...lol. Couldn't read past that..sorry.

The Swimmer, Leahy and Turbin were all looking particularly pathetic today during their presser. LOL to Durbin's reaction to 'Jama Media. He looked frightened.

The ACLU are running this full page ad in conjunction with todays Senate hearings over the NSA. Just like the MSM, another branch of the DinoRAT party performing its assigned duties.

IMO .. the Dems look like fools defending the Terrorists civil rights
But the best part was Poweline asking Durbin a question at the presser
Durbin asked who they were .. The guy says Powerline, the Pajama Media
Then Durbin says ... I never heard of you
And the dude says .. Yea, well Dan Rather has .. ROFL!!

I think the pubbies are doing better than the DemonicRats....but they are continuing battle,....Durbin was playing a tape of the President and Gonzales from statements made several years ago....at the break spin session.....
To: BigSkyFreeper
Unfortunately not. This is all about finding some evidence to impeach Bush.I interpret this hearing to be "Pre-Impeachment".
