Yes I agree the problem is though that too many Christians think that to show backbone is a sign of being carnal. Christ himself chased the money changers out of the temple with a rod. Where is our rage, "Be angered but sin not" as long as we are not breaking Gods laws with our actions but instead enforcing them then we've done nothing wrong. So let's do something and quit whining about what they're doing right?

UUUUUgh I will never understand how anyone can trust a Doctor of all things, who's judgment is so seriously flawed regarding health issues. This is really going to hurt St. Mary's. People will hesitate to get care there if they have a choice.

There are probably a few in all the hospitals, which is a sad state of affairs. NO ONE should be anywhere near patients who makes these decisions, for the same reason they shouldn't be giving blood. Doctors and nurses, more than anyone should know better. But this case is now public, and people know, where other hospitals, they may not know at least not for sure.

I would seriously question advice given to me by a doctor who had such questionable judgment in his own life. And the hospital shouldn't have to provide insurance. A lot of companies in CT did away with all spousal benefits, covering employees only, after this betrayal by their legislature.

"'Cause "Life Partner" is a lot funnier."

Ironic seeing as though it takes a MAN and a WOMAN as partners to create life.

Faggots spread AIDS which takes life away.

Had to know that this "civil union" garbage was gonna open up all kinds of cans of worms.

we can't show backbone anymore, we leave that up to the gov't. our beliefs don't count, if we protest we are "insensitive".

I hope they rule that the Catholic Church must acknowledge and obey the homosexual lobby. Then I hope two more things:
1) the Catholic Church chooses not to violate its teachings and CLOSES DOWN all of its facilities in the state and 2) it goes to SCOTUS.

Close the place down and let the public consider which is of the greater benefit, the institution or the poor plaintiff. Certainly religions have no obligation to provide public services to jurisdictions who prefer licentiousness to everything else.

Has complaining become the new and fashionable past-time? Everyone complains about this and that (am I complaining about complaining?), everyone takes personal offense at the slightest slight.

Globalization- come complain with us!

The sodomites just keep pushing and pushing.

Life partner? What the hell is a "life partner"?

"You honor, I've got this dog name Jake and he's been my life partner. We do everything together; eat together, sleep together, travel together, etc. The other day I tried take Jake to the Met's game and the stadium officials wouldn't let Jake in the ballpark. They are discriminating against me and Jake!!!

Your honor I want Jake to sit beside me at the ballpark and I want punitive damages awarded.

Yada, yada, yada.....

Saint Mary's Hospital President and CEO Robert Ritz said despite its self-funding system, the hospital could have chosen to insure McDonald. It exercised its discretion not to cover him because the hospital doesn't recognize McDonald and Couture's union on moral grounds.

Does the hospital pay for any other 'life partners' who are not married to the hospital employees? My guess is no, and these two men just want to shake things up. The doctor already admitted that he hadn't been discriminated against in any way since being on staff.

"The rights of homosexuals are one of the last clear bastions of civil rights

Since when is sex a "civil right"? What they really want is legislated approval.

Why doesn't the 'partner' get insured through his own employer?

Wasn't it in California a few years ago where the state ordered a diocese (IIRC San Francisco Archdiocese) to cover contraceptives in their insurance schemes provided for employees?

It's ALL about the money.

No, it's about getting everyone including those with religious beliefs to change to the sodomites way of thinking. If a religion doesn't think their way, it is wrong.

Of course, if it's Catholic, then bash it. The last socially acceptable prejudice.,p> This is one time I would come down on the side of the Catholics.
