A Belgian-Dutch Islamic political organization posted anti-Jewish cartoons on its Web site in response to the cartoons of the prophet Mohammed that appeared in Danish papers last year and offended many Muslims.
The cartoons were posted on the Arab European League's site on Saturday. It was not working Sunday morning because of exceeded bandwidth.
The cartoons depicting Mohammed wearing a turban-shaped bomb were first published in Denmark, and then in newspapers elsewhere in Europe in a show of solidarity with press freedoms.
The Islamic site carried a disclaimer saying the images were being shown as part of an exercise in free speech rather than to endorse their content - just as European newspapers have reprinted the Danish cartoons.
One of the AEL cartoons displayed an image of Dutch Holocaust victim Anne Frank in bed with Adolf Hitler, and another questioned whether the Holocaust actually occurred.
Dyab Abou Jahjah, the party's founder and best-known figure, defended the action on the Dutch television program Nova Saturday.
"Europe has its sacred cows, even if they're not religious sacred cows," he told the program.

No No No Piss Christ...the Pope may issue a fatwa/sarc
It is funny to note that, if the muslims are mad at Danes, they attack jews. Its a reflex; they can't help it.
Nobody caricatures a muslim as well as muslims do every day of their lives.
Excellent point...mosques are NOT places of worship. In non-muslim countries around the world, they also act as ordinance depots and bomb factories.
Well, that'll certainly teach those nasty, intolerant Dutchmen a lesson...
Searching for Humor in the Muslim World.
That's nothing new. They do anti-Jewish cartoons every day of the year.
(Denny Crane: "I Don't Want To Socialize With A Pinko Liberal Democrat Commie. Say What You Like About Republicans. We Stick To Our Convictions. Even When We Know We're Dead Wrong.")
The funny thing is that the makers of that "documentary" went to India to film muslim reactions to comedy. Why did they choose India (which has a 15 % muslim population) as opposed to a more homogeneous muslim country?
According to the producers, they were afraid of conducting such interviews in a purely Islamic country. In other words, the makers of that film were never filming in the muslm world!!
Yep, it's disgusting but that's all it is. Now I'm going to go think about something else.
The islamic world would go 100% psycho. What could they say? She was 5 when they married and 9 when he consummated the marriage. They know it's true.
Every day I become ever more convinced that dealing with the Muslim world is like dealing with a temper-tantrum prone child.
Let them draw their silly little cartoons. We will just ignore them, as we should. If they're really cute, maybe we'll stick them up on the refrigerator.
It reminds me of junior high. A little teasing doesn't hurt unless you let it hurt.
But I think it'll be the undoing of islam because ridicule will expose the truth about it.
Purely a Freudian slip...
At least it's a more in-kind retaliation than arson and murder.
Mohammed and Sharon...with Sharon on top!
One's the truth, and the other's a lie.
Huge difference!
Didn't he rape one of his "wives" in front of her father's body? The father was a Jewish merchant who was murdered by Mohammad.
Historical Islamic factoid: one of Mohammad's other wives was his own niece-in-law. He asked his nephew to divorce her so that he could marry her.
