He should expect some death threats, BRAVO for standing up to these vile cockroaches.

"That anything so mild could trigger a reaction so crazed -- riots, death threats, kidnappings, flag-burnings -- speaks volumes about the chasm that separates the values of the civilized world from those in too much of the Islamic world. Freedom of the press, the marketplace of ideas, the right to skewer sacred cows: Militant Islam knows none of this. And if the jihadis get their way, it will be swept aside everywhere by the censorship and intolerance of sharia."

This is something I jst posted a few minutes ago. Not enough people know the whole thing is a fake:

The (real) cartoons were published way back in September and no one got terribly upset.

So, some Imam got the idea of adding 3 fake and fairly profane/obscene cartoons that he had made up for the purpose of the little cartoon booklet he distributed. Far nastier than any published ones: Mohammed with a pig snout, a dog copulating with a praying Moslem, Mohammed as a pedophile demon.
So they made up the cartoons which set off the outrage.

Plus, no one is upset that Moslems made these profane/obscene drawings.
Like I said...the whole thing is a fake.

Here's a link to the post I got this info from. Go to post 305

But radical Muslims do.

Since nearly all Muslims seem to be radical, that would make them "mainstream," which is why we are still waiting for the mainstream, moderate Muslims to stand-up and loudly condemn the violence and advocate respect for the values, rules, and laws of the western countries where they live.

Hindus may consider it odious to use cows as food, but they do not resort to boycotts, threats, and violence when non-Hindus eat hamburger or steak. They do not demand that everyone abide by the strictures of Hinduism and avoid words and deeds that Hindus might find upsetting. The same is true of Christians, Jews, Buddhists, Mormons: They don't lash out in violence when their religious sensibilities are offended. They certainly don't expect their beliefs to be immune from criticism, mockery, or dissent.

But radical Muslims do.

I am not so sure it is only radical Muslims that make such demands. In the so-called golden era of Muslim Spain, Christians and Jews had no rights, were forbidden to do anything to practice their religions, were murdered for many reasons justified by sharia, lost their children to slavery and to forced education as Muslims...in other words, even in the time which is popularly (and inaccurately) known as the golden age of Spanish Islam, Islam was barbaric to those who did not become Muslim.

Were they radical then, too, or is it the teachings of Islam that make its adherents violent and intolerant?

Yes, I don't happen to remember any rabble of Christians going out and fire-bombing gay bars when Mappelthorpe put an image of Jesus (a crucifix) in a jar of urine.

Fox Sunday showed one of the cartoons this morning and Juan Williams took a pretty bold stand not only against the violence, but against Islam as well (paraphrasing: "...a weak religion if it can't handle some cartoons...").

Actually, Jeff Jacoby is wrong on this count. In India, McDonalds establishments were destroye by Hindu mobs on the rumor -- incorrect, as it turns out -- that the fries were cooked in beef tallow. The Hindus rioted and trashed at least one McDonalds.

Also, Hindus go on a rampage every year on Valentine's Day. Valentine's Day has become very popular in India, and reactionary Hindus are trying to discourage the practice by trashing places that celebrate the day, and believe it or not, dragging young lovers out of cafes and beating them up.

Fascinatingly, my Hindu coworker (New York City) defended these approaches.

Hindus do have their own anger issues.

But Muslims make Hindus look like teddy bears.

"That anything so mild could trigger a reaction so crazed --riots, death threats, kidnappings, flag-burnings -- speaks volumes about the chasm that separates the values of the civilized world from those in too much of the Islamic world."

We've seen the alleged offending cartoons which are TAME and innocuous. The Muslim/Islamic leadership and its willing hordes afflict mob and gang rule, intimidation, death threats, extortion, destruction ... and all devices of terrorism to get their way - to quell their insane tantrums. Let their behavior and thinking process be the alarm for us. The Muslim/Islamic maniacs are NOT to be tolerated. They are intolerable. Gad, what a mess! ... thanks to the world's leadership and politicians!

This whole cartoon issue is just one more example of why it's not possible to reason with the Islamofascits. I cannot think of a single instance in my 40 plus years of paying attention to world affairs where a radical Islamist group has one a single honorable thing. Just look at Israel's experience with them. They use the time period provided by 'negotiations' to prepare themselves to destroy the one with whom they are negotiating. A chain is only as strong as its weakest link, and negotiations are only as successful as the least honorable party to them.

We are going to have to learn, once and for all, that our intentions don't mean squat when it comes to dealing with this faction of Islam. We simply cannot bring enough good intentions to the table to overcome the dishonesty and cowardice of those who would shoot school children in the back and behead teachers for teaching girls at their school.

The choice is becoming abundantly clear. Deal with these animals in a manner they understand and is effective in handling the growing threat to America and our way of life, or be prepared for defeat. There is no middle ground.

Amen, these Mohammedens are about as unevolved as any group I have ever seen. The only thing these rioters understand is the barrel of a gun or the butt of a rifle. They prove by their actions that they are NO different than the Barbary Pirates of yore. Can you imagine how President Thomas Jefferson or James Knox Polk, or Andy Jackson would have reacted to thuggish mobs threatening us??

The Danes are gutless and wimpy, hopefully this wakes them up, the way 911 woke us up--finally.

Make no mistake: This story is not going away, and neither is the Islamofascist threat. The freedom of speech we take for granted is under attack, and it will vanish if it is not bravely defended. Today the censors may be coming for some unfunny Mohammed cartoons, but tomorrow it is your words and ideas they will silence. Like it or not, we are all Danes now.

Absolutely perfect!

The current uproar over cartoons of the Muslim prophet Mohammed published in a Danish newspaper illustrates yet again the fascist intolerance that is at the heart of radical Islam.

Today, publishing a cartoon is worthy of death -- tomorrow it'll be our right to worship freely. Thin skinned, chip on the shoulder control freak Muslims are showing their fascist underbelly. Today, I am a Dane.

NOTE THE DATE!!! Excerpt, retrospective http://www.danielpipes.com

Something Rotten in Denmark?
by Daniel Pipes and Lars Hedegaard
New York Post
August 27, 2002
Muslim group in Denmark announced a few days ago that a $30,000 bounty would be paid for the murder of several prominent Danish Jews, a threat that garnered wide international notice. Less well known is that this is just one problem associated with Denmark's approximately 200,000 Muslim immigrants. The key issue is that many of them show little desire to fit into their adopted country.

For years, Danes lauded multiculturalism and insisted they had no problem with the Muslim customs - until one day they found that they did. Some major issues:

Living on the dole: Third-world immigrants - most of them Muslims from countries such as Turkey, Somalia, Pakistan, Lebanon and Iraq - constitute 5 percent of the population but consume upwards of 40 percent of the welfare spending.
Engaging in crime: Muslims are only 4 percent of Denmark's 5.4 million people but make up a majority of the country's convicted rapists, an especially combustible issue given that practically all the female victims are non-Muslim. Similar, if lesser, disproportions are found in other crimes.
Self-imposed isolation: Over time, as Muslim immigrants increase in numbers, they wish less to mix with the indigenous population. A recent survey finds that only 5 percent of young Muslim immigrants would readily marry a Dane.
Importing unacceptable customs: Forced marriages - promising a newborn daughter in Denmark to a male cousin in the home country, then compelling her to marry him, sometimes on pain of death - are one problem. Another is threats to kill Muslims who convert out of Islam. One Kurdish convert to Christianity, who went public to explain why she had changed religion, felt the need to hide her face and conceal her identity, fearing for her life.
Fomenting anti-Semitism: Muslim violence threatens Denmark's approximately 6,000 Jews, who increasingly depend on police protection. Jewish parents were told by one school principal that she could not guarantee their children's safety and were advised to attend another institution. Anti-Israel marches have turned into anti-Jewish riots. One organization, Hizb-ut-Tahrir, openly calls on Muslims to "kill all Jews . . . wherever you find them."
Seeking Islamic law: Muslim leaders openly declare their goal of introducing Islamic law once Denmark's Muslim population grows large enough - a not-that-remote prospect. If present trends persist, one sociologist estimates, every third inhabitant of Denmark in 40 years will be Muslim.
Other Europeans (such as the late Pim Fortuyn in Holland) have also grown alarmed about these issues, but Danes were the first to make them the basis for a change in government.

In a momentous election last November, a center-right coalition came to power that - for the first time since 1929 - excluded the socialists. The right broke its 72-year losing streak and won a solid parliamentary majority by promising to handle immigration issues, the electorate's first concern, differently from the socialists.

The next nine months did witness some fine-tuning of procedures: Immigrants now must live seven years in Denmark (rather than three) to become permanent residents. Most non-refugees no longer can collect welfare checks immediately on entering the country. No one can bring into the country an intended spouse under the age of 24. And the state prosecutor is considering a ban on Hizb-ut-Tahrir for its death threats against Jews.

These minor adjustments prompted howls internationally - with European and U.N. reports condemning Denmark for racism and "Islamophobia," the Washington Post reporting that Muslim immigrants "face habitual discrimination," and a London Guardian headline announcing that "Copenhagen Flirts with Fascism."

In reality, however, the new government barely addressed the existing problems. Nor did it prevent new ones, such as the death threats against Jews or a recent Islamic edict calling on Muslims to drive Danes out of the Norrebro quarter of Copenhagen.

The authorities remain indulgent. The military mulls permitting Muslim soldiers in Denmark's volunteer International Brigade to opt out of actions they don't agree with - a privilege granted to members of no other faith. Mohammed Omar Bakri, the self-proclaimed London-based "eyes, ears and mouth" of Osama bin Laden, won permission to set up a branch of his organization, Al-Muhajiroun.

Contrary to media reports, the real news from Denmark is not flirting with fascism but getting mired in inertia. A government elected specifically to deal with a set of problems has made minimal headway. Its reluctance has potentially profound implications for the West as a whole.
