Better make that prescription illegal, too. Someone might accidentally get high. And our founding fathers knew that keeping people from being high would be the greatest threat our nation would ever face. That's why they gave the government unrestricted power to kick in doors and search people without warrants.

Kubby's door wasn't kicked in and the police had a warrant when they found his mescaline, psilocybin and syringes.

Not by a long shot.

The miriad of nanny statist legislation passed by the redemopublicrats protecting us from our own habits has done more damage to our Constitution than any foriegn or domestic enemy. It would probably take 50 years of libertarian majority to restore our Constitution to its former strength. Unfortunately, the two halves of the superparty have convinced the masses that their only choice is the rate at which our Constitutional liberty is taken from us.

Why should anyone care if an adult is 'stoned'?

A very, very good question.

Heaven forbid I make an informed decision to enjoy myself.

Give me a break. You have been spamming the boards incessantly with your neo-prohibition agitprop. You and paulsen have made an entire career of repeating yourselves on this message board. And think of all of the time you've wasted here defending the failed war on some drugs. You could have spent that time turning in neighbors you suspect are high or lying to children at school anti-drug assemblies.

It lacks the mold, mildew, carcinogens and buzz of dope, among other things,

Oh please. Anything synthetic is not good for the body and will have side effects. Perhaps you've been taking a toke or two yourself.

If these are the facts, what are your sources?

50 years of a "Libertarian" majority ? There wouldn't be a country left after 5 years. While some are responsible Libertarians, the vast bulk are obsessed with issues like "Stoner Rights" and demonstrate they have no interest in public responsibility, and have far more in common with Anarchists.

I remember participating in a Government Sim and these Stoner Loonytarians hijacked the GOP caucus, pushed the drug legalization issue and stifling ALL dissent, forcing us Conservative GOP straights over to the Democrat caucus, it was NOT a pretty sight.

You still haven't answered my statement.

Marijuana has been in use for hundreds of years. Why now is it demonized? Even a smart Freeper such as yourself would concede it's a government/pharmacuetical consipracy.

Nevermind on that last reply...However, I looked at the DEA site. What is their sources? Are we suppose to beleive what they say because they are a branch of our most honorable government?

You mean telling the truth on the Anarchist Stoner crowd ? Having grown up during the Nancy Reagan "Just Say No" era, I tended to find nothing they said about the issue was in error -- in fact, I got a serious refresher course from some of my former classmates who failed to heed the warning. At least a few of them can now be found at our local cemetery. As far as I'm concerned, you guys can shove YOUR Stoner lies and stick it where the sun don't shine.

Kubby has finally exposed medical marijuana as a scam.

Hardly a scam. Did you read the article?

“He said Marinol works well for some patients and not for others.”

Marijuana did work for my late wife when she was dying from esophageal cancer. Pills did not work. Her nausea was so bad she could not hold down anything – not just food but also pills. What good does it do to take an anti-nausea pill if it comes back up?
Unfortunately, after several days of actually eating food that stayed down, and using the nutritional supplement through a Kangaroo pump – and it also staying down – she watched an episode of “Cops”. It showed SWAT teams kicking in doors for marijuana busts. She became paranoid and refused to use any more marijuana. The nausea returned, she could no longer hold anything in her stomach and starved to death.

I now have an intense dislike for the Drug Warriors and their ignorant extremist supporters.

It comes in the form of a pill and is also being studied by researchers for suitability via other delivery methods, such as an inhaler or patch. The active ingredient of Marinol is synthetic THC, which has been found to relieve the nausea and vomiting associated with chemotherapy for cancer patients and to assist with loss of appetite with AIDS patients.

The “other delivery methods, such as an inhaler or patch” are not yet available. Until they become available – and proven to work – smokable marijuana should be legal for those that need it. What good does an anti-nausea pill do if the nausea is so bad it won’t stay down?

A wonderfully logical argument. Maybe you can join Mojave's "turn in your neighbor and spam the net with agitprop" campaign.

The drug war is based on lies and fear. "Better make pot illegal, or your kids will turn into mass murdering psychopaths who will want to have sex with jazz musicians." These same neo-prohibitionists drug themselves and their children with anti-anxiety prescription dope, alcohol, and overeating. And I am supposed to give up my Constitutional liberty so they can further their lie driven agenda, tossing up motorists, seizing property, and kicking in doors to search for a plant? No thanks.
