The last thing we would need in a potential presidential candidate(McCain) is an unpredictable nature.

Yeah...instead of getting paid under the table with cash...and no taxes taken out...

We have to find SOME good reason for his "guest worker program"...LOL

Excellent idea and I should not be surprised if someone in the GOP is actually monitoring this thread and other similar forums/blogs.

that's why the president wants the guest worker program -- at least those people will be paying into the programs which are needing cash desperately.

That is a subject I don't want to get into too deep because I'm passionate about it, but the bottom line is that without a large influx of people from somewhere, we are in a negative population growth.

Mark Steyn has a great column on the problems facing Europe because of this exact problem. If nothing changes...elderly are going to suffer.

Since Kerry thinks it's okay to post at the Daily Kos which is filled with vile words, I don't see why someone in the adminsitration shouldn't post here. Unfortunately, the retribution from the press would be unrelenting. We could write the headlines ourselves. LOL

I'd better run and get some other stuff together for the Super Bowl. I'm only going for the commercials since none of the teams I like are in it this year :-)

I turned on MTP...and the first question out of Timmy's mouth, to Boehner, was "Are the Republicans in real trouble on Capitol Hill?"....

I immediately changed the channel....blech

You are correct that Clinton gutted the Military and spent so little time with The Security of the Nation that we were attacked. We have spent huge amounts of Money just fighting the war on Terror and getting back up to speed with where we were more than a decade ago with the Best Military in the World. I do not find most conservatives screaming mad at the Pubbies and GWB, mostly it is the activists. They may be concerned but are not letting it spoil their lives. Most Republicans understand that we have to spend Money to take away the Democrat's ability to feed on the greed of the Geezers as Rush would say. They feel they are entitled even though what they paid in SS does not even begin to add up to what they receive. The dems did nothing to change a SS/welfare program into a true investment that would have reaped 10 times what the average SS check is per month. They saw it as their gravy train to re-election and they were correct for the most part. I see a huge problem with the Medicare Prescription plan and it may be just the beginning, this is only February and most people will not run out of their Rx for another Month or so. I know of a Drug store in my County that had 7 Pharmacy employees walk off the job and one was fired two weeks ago. It was a CVS store and they had to call in an army of people from other stores and Supervisor's on overtime to Fix the many Problems. I am lucky to have my RX benefits covered at 80 percent, and I do not have a problem, but some people are almost afraid to try and fill an Rx. In some instances People that are 80 or older on a fixed income will end up paying more if they choose this Medicare Benefit, and that is bizarre.

OK but maybe there should be some form of payment you can make to cover this shortfall OK if you do not need it then it helps cover the costs for those who do. The bases of most insurance.

I enrolled Mom in Humana's program. According to their stats, 95% of their clients never hit $2,500.00 a year.
If you go over $2,500.00 a year then you enroll in the program that has a $48.00 a month premium instead of $10.00 month and you get a copay of $7.00 a month for you generic drug up to the $3,600.00 threshold.

Great thing, watching the free market work.
The Fed's had estimated the ave. monthly premium would be $35.00, it is actually about $21.00 and falling.
They also estimated a 10 yr. cost of $780 billion and they have now dropped that to about $620 billion for ten years. I spoke to a pharmacist and he said that almost all of the people are enrolling in the mail order systems and getting 3 month scripts. That is the cheapest was to get them.

Good thoughts Tx...between MO1, MNJohnnie, and Peach...expect lively debate.

I agree with Johnnie that these concerns may not translate to losses in COngress, I also agree with Peach and MO1 that these concerns sure as heck don't help.

We all want conservative Republicans elected and to act like conservative Republicans

You can have some of our population with pleasure but I doubt if you want the ones I want to give you !!! :0)

Our population is unbalanced with the middle classes being fiscally and population conscious and limiting their families to 2 or at the most 3 children. However those existing on welfare/black economy (under the table payments) are breeding like mice to get more benefits.

Have you seen this thread from the disappointing (to them) "Impeach Bush" DC protest yesterday.

Porta-potties as far as the eye could see ---- it's very funny.

It is a civilization problem. When society gets this advanced and comfortable...you don't need a lot of children to survive.

However, a dearth of children still have serious ramifications.
