The Democrats like to point out that only Republicans received direct money from Abramoff. The Democrats got their money from Abramoff's PACs.
I think it's worth noting that money given directly to a candidate is a more open form of watching where the money goes and how a person may vote as a result of the money. PACs often operate in the dark and it can be more difficult to track the money.
I didn't know about Cindy's stroke and certainly wish her well. Being married to that egomaniac would make anyone susceptible to a stroke
#327 LOL!
Free beer from mccain--priceless.
General Hayden is doing a good job on ABC's This Week in defending the NSA program.
What does President Bush have to lose by being more combative? This adopting President Clinton as his brother has me spoofed. Clinton wouldn't be a trusted brother even if he took an oath.
Conyers, Rangel, and assorted other America haters in charge.
Agreed. Since 1994 they have been beaten by not being able to defend their political philosophy. To make matters worse, they continue to use the same old arguments over and over. Today, with such stalwart defenders as Howard Dean, the Democrats just keep moving to the edge. Until they fall off the cliff, they will lose more than they gain, IMHO.
Boehner handled Russert's onslaught and mean insults with class, and by the end of that segment judging by the Buffalo butt's body language he looked like the guilty party. Boehner's demeanor makes him seem almost Priest like, and untouchable. He has learned well from his Parish Priest, and that may be another reason why Russert is stymied because even though he may have been raised Catholic he seems to have lost most of what he was taught, and Boehner is a faithful Catholic. Russert really seemed uncomfortable today, and he looked really out of sorts. Maybe it is not Boehner, maybe he is getting nasty e-mails questioning his pimping of his Son and Carvile.
By "some Bush basher" I assume you mean those one-topic REAL CONSERVATIVES who inhabit the FR threads.
...And RANGEL would head the Appropriations Committee. This can NOT happen!
The Democrats debate at a middle school level. It is almost like going back to grade school with the same mentality.
So and so doesn't like you anymore. We are going to make so and so hate you. Democrats are full of anger and hate, like the losers of grade school sports competition.
I agree with your assessment Samantha. Boehner did an awesome job -- straight up and honest. Russert was his slimey self, as usual. There was a day when Russert was a respected individual, I'm not sure when that all changed. But, after watching several NBC shows (including Scarborough on MSNBC), I have come to the conclusion that in order to retain your employment with NBC, you must become a prostitute and bow at the alter of the DNC. And speaking of NBC, a poster above mentions an upcoming battle between FNC and NBC...that should be interesting to watch. I think O'Reilly mentioned it last week, and that some information will be coming out on that soon.
As for Spector, I didn't care for that interview, either way. I thought Timmy was his regular obnoxious self, and I thought Spector didn't hit any home runs in any of his responses.
Tomorrow during the hearings I will unfortunately be at work, but hope to be able to video stream them to my desktop so I can follow them. I'm sure the alphabet coverage of the hearings will be so one-sided that I won't be able to get any factual representation after the fact, so I hope to be able to tune in and watch for myself. I'm sure someone will have a running live thread -- and as always -- the truth will be told on FR that you won't see in old media's coverage.
"at the end of the day it's politics"
Great quote here snugs how often we forget.
