...freedom of speech is a right protected by law and constitutions. The exercise of that right aggravates Western leaders, including President Bush.

A gratuitous shot that isn't germane to the point of this article; these antiquers simply can't restrain themselves.

if any true committed muslim speaks to you honestly, he will tell you this. the earth is islams property, sooner or later everyone will be subject to islam. after understanding this, it is no surprise they cannot tolerate other social mores other than their own, since they think everything is theirs anyways. i say this even though i do think the cartoons are wrong and should not have ever been published.

"As one gutsy Jordanian newspaper editor named Jihad Momani asked last week: "What brings more prejudice against Islam, these caricatures or pictures of a hostage-taker slashing the throat of his victim in front of the cameras or a suicide bomber... . ?" Momani was fired by his editors for daring to challenge conventional wisdom. But his question rings true."

Momani has been arrested by the Jordanian Government. As far as I know he has not been charged. Under Jordanian law he can be charged with blasphemy and would certainly then be convicted and executed. Momani is said to be quite nervous.

"Yesterday the Brussels-based Flemish newspaper De Morgen interviewed Mr Momani over the phone. The Jordanian journalist appeared to be in a panic. According to the interview, which was published today, he told De Morgen:

"I cannot assess what severe penalties await me." "

Seems to me; the better solution than the 'struggle' to intergrate these Muslims in Europe; is to just send those who adhere to the 'Flintstone's world view'. . .back to their BCE - before Christian era - homeland, where their stone-age thinking can be appreciated.

Someone should tell the Philly (national) inquirer that this is not a democracy we live in. Oh well, the point would be lost on them anyway.

apparently, its more accepted to murder people in cold blood on TV/Video than it is for a silly cartoon to be published.

Maybe the world is waking up. I don't know if that is possible, however, because nothing else has done so. Bombings in Madrid, Saddam's torture chambers and mass graves, the hatred of Islam towards Jews and Christians - the world mostly yawns in between tirades against President Bush.

It is best to remember that the Nazis and the Muslims have much in common.

That was 60 years ago. Today, the Arab News and other Muslim publications routinely publish cartoons like these:

re: "We had no desire to add oil to the fires as some may think. A fundamental principle of democracy and secularism is being threatened." This is a principle many Muslims apparently don't understand.

====================================================================================

Don't know if this author is a liberal, conservative, libertiarian, or just plain stupid.

Muslims understand the Western ideas of democracy, including the latent "secularism" which the humuanists and political left suppose created Democracy in the first place. They've change the founding father's recognition of "God given, inalienable rights" with "civil rights" or "human rights". They've perverted the guarantees of "freedom of religion", i.e. the freedom of every individual to worship as he or she wishes, as "freedom from religion", with the secular state as the enforcer. The secular humanists in Western culture have turned Democracy upside down, from what it originally was, as a creation of brilliant, mostly Christian or Christianity inspired thinkers.

Yes, Muslims understand the idea of secular democracy that this author works so hard to differentiate. They hate it and are willing to DIE to reject it, kill it, and it's adherants.

What this person fails to recognize is that there's not just a "clash of cultures involved here, it's a WAR between cultures. It's a war between Muslims and every other religion, people, or ideology on the face of the earth. And, Muslims are willing to die to the last Muslim man, woman, or child (except for the Mullahs, who protect their own and send other's kids), to bring a world wide Caliph into being.

I was in a little Hajji shop just about half an hour go and the radio playing in there had some guy ranting in Arabic in a very creepy voice.

He said the word "jihad" several times. The voice sounded almost demonic.

The shopkeeper turned the volume way down when he saw me.

That gave me the creepy-crawlies.

...don't blow the episode into a war of civilizations.

That would only be so if, one assumes that both sides are civilized. Because Islam stubbornly adheres to the standards of behavior in the 13th century, it will surely be a one sided battle. Their parasitic culture won't survive for very long once their western host turns on them.

Also arrested he was.
