Thanks Walter. That is the point I was trying to make from the beginning of this discussion. The problem many christians have regarding this matter is just that. There are 2 kingdoms. The right and the left.
People feel good about themselves that they are extra compassionate becuse they want to ignore some of our laws to help those here Illegally. They are not really helping the issue, they are exploiting those here illegally. And hurting our own citizens.
Rather that sponsoring others they demand that we all,
through higher taxes, support those who are here illegally. All that does is make them feel better.
I have a brother in law (who is a policeman)whose son was killed by an Illegal here who was drunk and killed his son.
The Illegal Mexican was known to be here illegally, but of course that did not matter to him. Now that man runs back and forthnover the border but will never pay for his crime. My brother in laws son is just as dead.
My son had a car accident with a man here illegally, who admitted he was wrong and caused the accident until the police arrived and then his perfect english of course he forget. He claimed he knew no English and could only speak Spanish. Of course he got away totally free and my son had to pay for his own repairs. Real fair right?
Which can also be interpreted as having respect for Caesar's laws. True we are all subject to the laws of God, but the laws of man hold dominion over us and even Jesus Christ recognized that we should pay our dues and respect to local governance.
Man, I hate it when some dude finds a single verse in the bible and tries to beat us over the head with it to make a point in favor of destroying the nation.
We're all for immigration, just LEGAL IMMIGRATION. respect our laws, and become a citizen in good standing. Hey, it's a "self respect" thing. My father encountered a lot of the same sentiment in seminary studies. He was a genius and "remembered" the bible. When some fool tried to push their point backed by scripture, he could instantly pull 10 verses to the contrary, depending on how motivated he was by the individuals agenda.
The eventually pulled him aside one day and said "You don't really want to do this, do you?" and which point he left seminary studies. Eventually became one of the youngest Leutenants in Korea. Don't have all the details, my older bro has the medals.
I believe it was Chuck Colson who wrote a book a few years ago that discussed this very topic.
The two kingdoms deals with the Christian's reality of living in God's Kingdom (both present and future) and the Kingdom of Man or Caesar, with its law and civil authority.
For believers in America, we do not live in a theocracy, but we as citizens can insure that our laws based on that higher law revealed in Scripture.
It is not loving people to encourage the violation of law to the endangerment and destruction of all of society. There are other, more realistic ways to help others who live in poverty and who suffer under a corrupt government--it is not by destroying ourselves.
Thanks Walter,
Exactly Right!!!!
