In all due respect, Kritsinn, you all give these people more publicity than the MSM.
Who cares what they had on their signs? I can guarantee you if I ask fifty people tomorrow not one will know anything about their little protest up in DC today.
And they do fall under the aegis of the same Bill of Rights that all Americans do. So like it or not they've a right to be there.
Also, it's my opinion that these folks, via their protestations, actually help our side more than positively promote their own agenda. Most people have a negative of opinion of these characters.

A threat to cut off "W"'s head hardly falls within the Bill of Rights.

And with the ol'gal carrying the sign obviously a headjob, betcha' the SS will be checking this out right about now........... ring ring... ring ring....

Problem is that if the leftist tantrum is ever mentioned, it's usually in the MSM as a rousing success with massive support. They use a quick news bite to show it with a better turnout than it had. Sometimes coming here is the only way you'll get the truth.

We respect their First Amendment rights. However, we report the side of them the MSM does not.

All of America (that's Red America and moderate dems), need to see how far these wackos go. That just makes the conversion quicker and the dollars dems give stop. Sure they'll say it was tens of thousands and the photos don't reflect reality... but that one sign will show they're worst than terrorists.

For every troll that comes here and runs to Kos or DU to brag about it... there'll be two regular dems who just joined the forums figuring out they're crazy and they're party's gone.

Your comment is confused.

You say that Kristinn gives these people more publicity than the MSM, and that nobody will know about their little protest...

...but then you say that these people, via their protestations, help our side and that most people have a negative opinion of them.

How can people get a negative opinion of the lefty protesters if fifty out of fifty people (your numbers) don't know about the protest?

If nobody knows about their protests and the kinds of signs they proudly carry, how can those protests and protesters help our side, as you say.

I don't think the MSM photogs at the rally will submit their print of the beheaded Bush photo (or the "911 was an inside job" photo) to their editors, because they want to project the image of a "mainstream" protest.

So, how will the real mainstream Joe and Jane Public know about the beheaded Bush sign then?

MSM will not report it.

And you don't think we should be reporting it, either.

I ran into the World Can't Wait crowd Friday night as I was walking to my bus stop - they were counterprotesting an anti-abortion rally at Farragut Square. One aging hippie pulled a lotion bottle full of paint out from under her poncho and squirted it all over their signs. The prolifers surrounded her and called the police. Unfortunately I couldn't stay for the outcome as my bus only comes once an hour, but I did take a few minutes to ask her if she was the person who keyed all the cars with Bush bumper stickers.

Her reply: "Of course not! I'd never do something like that."

My reply: "You just did."

Her response was a clueless look.

I got in a couple more digs about disagreeing with someone's message not giving her the right to vandalize it, but she just couldn't get it. I only wish I'd thought to tell her that her felony mischief (these were large professionally printed full color banners) might have cost her her right to vote.

I TRY to mind my own business, I really do, but stuff just HAPPENS to me.

You're getting a lot of rather polite dissent from your opinion.

I'd like to take it to the next level and say that I am contemptuous of your chiding Kritsinn with your confused opinion of what she should and should not say. Contemptuous.

Absolutely. These protestors are a prime example of the beautiful
"spot the loony" (or loonies, in this case) function of our
beloved First Amendment.
(also described as a figurative "give 'em enough rope and let 'em
hang themselves")

Also, it's my opinion that these folks, via their protestations,
actually help our side more than positively promote their own
agenda. Most people have a negative of opinion of these characters.

And the more publicity these folks get...the better.
When the MSM (often intentionally) drops the ball in covering lefty nuts...
then talk radio picks it back up thanks to a thread like this or on a blog.

I care what they had on their signs, and I do hope the Secret Service cares as well.

One would hope the Psych ward at Sibley hospital was also aware, because one of them escaped this weekend!
