Prayer for When You Need to be Refreshed and Renewed
Lord, many of us are like gale-beaten ships, arriving at last at a calm and sheltered cove.
Our lines are frayed from incessant tension.
Our sails are battered by sudden gusts of unexpected hardships...
Our spars are broken where we were unable to withstand the force of temptations.
Our decks are soaked, having been awash with the tears of worry and doubt.
Refit us as we draw close to you in this quiet moment.
Restore us with renewed courage that we each may set sail again, as stout ships able to head high into the wind and hold our course.
We thank you that we can set our hearts like sextants upon you and navigate even perilous, uncharted seas with confidence because you are our North Star: absolute, constant and dependable.
Amen

Seems to me that you should be in the kitchen preparing junk food for the game. :-)

Guess what -- I'm not barefoot or pregnant either!! ROFL!!!!!!!
I have pulled pork in the crock pot (started at about 6:30) and I'm making nacho chees for tortilla chips. We'll be taking these items to our Sunday School Superbowl party at 5:30. I'd actually rather sit here and watch the Superbowl while chatting with you all, but the tradition myst go on! LOL

Greetings, FReepers, Troops,
and All the Ships at Sea!
Reporting in Drive-by Mode from Margaritaville on the sandy shores of Treasure Island in Florida, its the continuing saga of Sarge's Most Excellent Adventure! And here we have come to the final day of Operation Family Reunion 2, as the Home Detachment arrived home safe yesterday. The trip back for Missus and The Boy started Friday morning in a blinding tropical storm that delayed all flights out of Tampa for a day. The airline put them up at the Marriot to await the flight home, and they made it back yesterday noontime.
So, Sarge has been packing and re-packing, getting himself ready for the long trek back to the war. A small supply of rum will keep things loose for the rest of the day and the evening. Super Bowl Sunday makes for some chaotic travel here in the Bay Area, so its not a wise move to leave the hotel unless necessary. So, Sarge is camping out, relaxing the day away with a cable-TV marathon, the on-and-off Internet access, and dining at Capn Morgans table.
Sarge will be in and out as access permits, so Lets Have Fun!
OLD SARGE

Most of my daily posts will need a hanky alert. But how to incorporate it without ruining the serene effect of the post?
Sorry it made you cry.
