I'm thinking this is a great development in the WOT. It should awaken the West to the fact that we're not fighting a ragtag group of terrorists.
We're fighting an ideology, perhaps a smaller subset of Islam, but a whole lot bigger than a few islamic radicals.

From a gathering in Iowa on Feb. 1: Daschle said that Dems "have a chance to shift the" nat'l "debate back to domestic issues because voters are tired of the status quo and the scare tactics over terrorism."

It should awaken the West to the fact that we're not fighting a ragtag group of terrorists. Well, there is one last hurdle to be crossed.
The somewhat reasonable left has to realize that this is not about an effort to reconcile cultural values in a manner sensitive to diversity.
But that the diversity in question is too great to be bridged by the methods that liberals espouse - and instead the liberal mantra is interpreted by the Islamists as weakness.
