I was listening to the John Batchelor Program last night.
Jed Babbin, of the American Spectator, was a guest last night, Friday, February 3, 2006.
Babbin said several things last night:
1) The Justice Department investigation into the leaking of the NSA program is pointing to Capital Hill.
2) The Justice Department is looking to use polygraphs on members of Congress and their staffers.
3) Any Senate member of Congress who refuses a polygraph directive by the Justice Department automatically loses their security clearance if they have one.
4) The names being rumored to be a target of the investigation are Senator John Rockefeller(D)-West Virginia, Senator Dick Durbin(D)-Illinois, and Senator Ronald Wyden(D)-Oregon.
5) Members of the Intelligence have already been looking at members of Congress and their staffers over other leaks.
6) A name of a target of the investigation will likely not be revealed for another 2 to 3 months.
7) The Justice Department has an idea who the leaker or leakers are, but is proceeding with caution.
8) A firestorm will erupt upon the indictment of a sitting U.S. Senator.
Wouldn't it be cool to go into the elections with a Democrat senator under indictment for betraying America with revelations about its security programs?
He will skate will say he did it for the good of the country or something close to that, just watch.
Sounds like an election year gift. I can't wait.
that and having the doors to the NYT padlocked
"The Justice Department is looking to use polygraphs on members of Congress and their staffers."
There is just one BIG problem here. These senators are habitual liars; it's a way of life for them. They will pass a polygraph test with flying colors.
Then you will know they are lying.
Has the New York Times Violated the Espionage Act?
