Great pictures from Iraq.
WELCOME HOME AND GOD BLESS INDY PENDANCE'S DAUGHTER!
((HUGS))Back at 'ya.
It has been an up-and-down time here at the Gulf Shores. A lots happened since we last talked, so I gotta recap. The Home Detachment arrived last Thursday after a brief shopping cruise to the Florida Mall, checked in, and unpacked the rest of the day. Friday was pretty much lounging poolside and throwing The Boy up against the wall, and watching him bounce off and squeal, Again!
Last Saturday, wouldnt you know it, when the Home Detachment arrives in the Tampa Bay area, the pirates would JUST HAPPEN to pick that day to invade the city and pillage the streets in a raucous parade GASPARILLA was that weekend, and Sarge and the gang watched the mini-Mardi Gras from the comfort of the hotel room, having a good time doing it, too.
Internet service down here, is courtesy of the hotels sister property which entails a two-block hike to get wireless service. No matter the pool bar has a guy who makes a rum mix right to Sarges strength my blood-alcohol content is finally back up to normal
Missus was sick with her allergies, so she was laid up in bed with sinus headache and migraine. So, Sarge and The Boy made multiple trips to the surfside, the playground, the pool, the Waffle House, and anywhere else we can think of. So much for that
All this last week, there were boat rentals to make, day-cruises to captain and crew, shopping and surfing, and all sorts of fun stuff! Now, because of the initial delay in getting back, the two vacations overlapped, and Missus and The Boy had to leave yesterday
right in the middle of one of the worst storms to hit the Gulf Shore in ages. All flights out of Tampa were delayed, those two were given comp rooms at an airport hotel, while Sarge had to battle his way back to the hotel HE was staying at to check into a smaller room. Upshot is, though, hes at the sister hotel with Internet access, so at least its a plus.
The storms are continuing this morning, with many roads in St. Petersburg flooded out, but Sarge is hunkered down safely waiting for it to pass. Its windy, rainy and cooler, so a lot of the beach fun is blocked, as is the beach front. So, Sarge is by himself in the hotel by the sea, until he mounts back up Monday for the air trip back to Kuwait, then into Iraq and the Sunni triangle once again.
Sarge will be in and out as access permits, so Lets Have Fun!
