Evangelicals to launch 'Christian AIPAC'
Jpost ^ | 2/2/06 | ILAN CHAIM

A leading US evangelist is forming an umbrella organization under which all pro-Israel Christians in America can speak as one in support of the Jewish state.

Pastor John C. Hagee of San Antonio, Texas, is to launch Christians United for Israel (CUFI) at an invitation-only "Summit on Israel" next Tuesday at his Cornerstone Church.

The Texas-size church seats 5,000 worshipers and has some 17,000 members, but the summit will host a much smaller congregation: the spiritual leaders of an estimated 30 million US Christians.

"Think of CUFI as a Christian version of AIPAC [the American Israel Public Affairs Committee]," Hagee told The Jerusalem Post. "We need to be able to respond instantly to Washington with our concerns about Israel. We must join forces to speak as one group and move as one body to [respond to] the crisis Israel will be facing in the near future."

Hagee declined to specify which crisis, noting that Israel faces one "every day the sun comes up." But at the top of the CUFI agenda is what the pastor calls "the Bible issue," namely what he considers to be the mistaken policy of trading parts of the biblical Land of Israel for peace, an agenda that AIPAC, for example, neglects.

Accordingly, Hagee says, CUFI intends to "interact with the government in Washington" and persuade it "to stop pressuring Israel to give up land for peace. Besides the fact that this does not work, Israel has a Bible mandate for the land. Now that Gaza has been given to Hamas, it has a military foothold a thousand yards from Jerusalem." ..."

Hagee is correct though, he doesn't have to listen to the Israeli people, he only has to read the Bible...something you should expect from a Christian.

I am a Christian and I do not buy the argument that being one means being an Israeli ultra-hawk. God told King Zedekiah through the prophet Jeremiah to submit to Nebuchadnezzar and not try to revolt. Jews loyally served Babylonian and Persian monarchs and were rewarded for their loyalty. For centuries an alien people, the Samaritans, dwelt in the land of Israel and nowhere is God shown as hostile to them. Did not our Savior befriend a Samaritan slut and use them as an example of divine grace (the good Samaritan)? I see nothing in scripture to state that being a Christian means being more Zionist than the Israelis themselves choose to be.

When Hagee blames Kadima policies on "American pressure" he flat out lies. The Israeli people have given up trying to rule the Palestinians, which is what Hagee is demanding they do. Evangelicals like to insist that they are Israel's friends. Some friends.

I know that AIPAC is an American organization, but it is Jews talking and listening to other Jews. Not Evangelicals trying to expend Jews in militarily indefensible positions because they think it will expedite the Second Coming. And thinking they are Israel's friend.

Consider this: The way things were going, the Palestinans were on their way to a voting majority in Israel, and conceivably poised to take over the Kennesset.

Sharron gave them the Gaza as their autonomous 'homeland' to remove them from the Israel voting rolls. Also talk about doing the same in part of the West Bank..... Comments?

Rhetoric this...

I am sick and tired of people like you.

You ARE a SHAM.

And, this isn't the first time I've said that to you.
One thing about you...you don't disappoint.

Are the Samaritans actually a foreign people in Israel?
They claim to be descended from refugees of the 10 Northern tribes. The Samaritan Torah is actually quite textually rather close to the Jewish Torah except for a few differences:
1. It is still written in Ancient Hebrew letters rather than the Aramaic Masortic Script used by my people.
2. They call Mt. Sinai "Horeb"
3. They seem to focus much more on the Samarian and Northern holy sites, as opposed to the Jewish Bible which includes both.

They also made Mt. Gerizim near Schechem the center of their religion as opposed to Mr. Moriah in Jerusalem. http://www.the-samaritans.com/

In the Bible, it says that the Samaritans are descended primarily from colonists whom the Assyrians transported into Israel after they destroyed Samaria. As with the Babylonians later the Assyrians did not deport every Jew from the land. Just the young, strong, useful, skilled, educated, and presumably hot. The lowest classes were left behind. These presumably mixed with the exiles the Assyrians transported in.

But as we see in the New Testament the Judeans considered them asterisk Jews.

Show me where Latvia was ever promised to be a nation by God.

Your point fails on every aspect.

You employ the circular reasoning of the religious nut.

Tell me, if God is an ultra Zionist now, where was He during the Holocaust ? Where was He when Ferdinand and Isabella expelled the Jews ? Where was He when Masada fell and the Bar Kochba revolt crushed ? God's promises to the Jews have been transferred in toto to the Christian Church. The Christian Church is the descendants as countless as the stars of the sky that God promised to Abraham.
