There are two simultaneous international uproars over the satiric cartoons that appeared in September in a small Danish newspaper, and they reflect the Wall between Western and Islamic values.
In most of the West, there is reaction to the strong-arm tactics mounted by the Arab states against Denmark, and Muslim demands that the Western press be censored in line with Arab sensitivities. In Muslim countries, there is state inciting of outrage that Mohammed is dissed by cartoons.
The Washington Posts Jefferson Morley describes the two differing views:
"Islam forbids any representation of the Prophet," the paper's [France Soir, before its Egyptian owner fired its editor] front page editorial says today. "The question is, are all those who are not Muslims obliged to honour that prohibition? Can you imagine a society that added up all the prohibitions of the different religions? What would remain of the freedom to think, to speak, or even to come and go freely?"
Versus
A government official in the United Arab Emirates offered a very different definition of freedom of expression to the Khaleej Times. "Freedom of expression means freedom to express one's views in ways that will not affect social harmony," he said.
That social harmony is epitomized by despots persecuting their peoples, supporting each others armed threats to the West and by terrorists, by anti-Semitic cartoons resonant of the Nazis, by oppression and murder of Christians, by fatwahs for the murder of dissidents and Westerners.....[more]

Europe has no business starting something they can't finish.
Those spineless jellyfish are thumbing their noses at the Muslims and when the Muslims strike back HARD, guess who the elite in Europe will snap their fingers for? As if we are some sort of fecking garcon that will come to save their worthless hides for another time.
Print your pictures, but then don't expect us to come mop up your messes.

Europe has no business starting something they can't finish - I am afraid that is the ONLY business they are in.

This is about more than freedom of the press. This is about two entirely differing world views.
I'M ON THE WEST SIDE!!!!!!!!

This is a very good point, that flies over the head of the PC crowd.

There is one big war a brewin'. Get ready, it won't be long. Better figure out if you are on the side of appeasement or victory.
I would rather be dead then live in a world dominated by Muslims.

Islam is a hypocritical religion. They can demonize the Jews and Christians in their news media but blow a gasket when its thrown back at them. Truly an intolerant religion of hate and revenge.

"Freedom of expression means freedom to express one's views in ways that will not affect social harmony," What a wishy washy bunch of BS! Nothin' like something concrete to abide by. LOL
Essentially, muslims and islam want their cake and eat it to. That's the only way that you can take over the world. They apparently think they already own it.

I hope I'm not wrong but I don't think anything will actually happen.. Remember the uproar over the quran-in-the-toilet story? Flags were burned, effigies were torched, guns were fired into the air and threats were made and then, after a week or so it all died down to a dull roar then nothing.
I think these people need a new hobby.

I'd be happy for you to be right and me to be wrong
But, this is Europe--the Muslims aren't going to pick a fight with us because they know we will kick their asses. But how to you fear the French?

What else would you expect from the Liar Prophet?

Mr. Van Gogh's death did not dissuade us. Oon the contrary. These cartoons were printed as a response to Van Gogh's murder and the Islamic terror that seeks to quash dissent from Islam. Unfortunately, this is being undermined by too many feet of clay incapable of taking a stand...
