The place to stop McCain is in the primaries. All of this talk and bleating depends on him winning the primaries and his odds are not good. Frankly, at this point Hillary is unlikely to win her primaries, either.
Rather than look past the primary process to what we do if the scenario occurs, it is better to see who emerges from that trial by fire.
If it is McCain, he'll have earned it. If it is Allen, he'll have earned it. If it is Condi, she'll have earned it.
We don't care who "earns" it on the left. The goal is to defeat them. Always.
I will not vote for McCain...so when you go to vote in the primaries...think about me and the other Freepers who wont vote for McCain.
the point is to NOT accept him in the primaries....then we wont have to defend him later.....
no quarter.
I am really tired of these east coast so-called conservative writers telling those of us in the heartland how we feel. I certainly am not warming to McCain and neither is anyone else I know.
Where do they get off writing this junk? I don't even like Grover Noquist and Keene certainly doesn't speak for me. I detest it when writers broad brush something they don't have a clue about.
How many conservatives do you know that support McCain?
That makes him the MSM's fondest dream for the Republican ticket. They are promoting him now, trying to make him credible, but if he won the nomination they'd carve him up and he'd get a loss that would make Mondale's look respectable. Or he'd have to drop out after the convention, which would also be a catastrophe for us.
I wouldn't vote for McCain under any circumstances. CFR alone is reason enough, though there are more reasons.
Here's the MSM's dream contest: Breck vs. Bizarro.
New York Republicans are warming up to McKook. Most of the rest of us wouldn't vote for him under any circumstances.
I sure ain't votin' for no RINO...
McCain is a sure loser from the gate and Julie-annie is a non-starter... (Dick Cheney is more viable than either of them).
Jeb Bush, George Allen, Condi Rice are the three I see as actually viable...
I'm all for sending a message like the last SCOTUS pick... I don't want to get stuck with the old maid... this ain't a game of cards... too many Republicans play it like it was...
Baloney.
I'd rather see an open enemy in the Whte House than that back-stabbing phoney Judas Iscariot RINO - a man who is anti-gun, anti-First Amendment, sucks up to the press, loves illegal invaders, and is soft on terrorists.
This is all silly. Just stop him in the primaries.
If he wins the primaries, then he's the most rightward candidate available to us -- but it is foolish to start analyzing that scenario.
A better question at this point is simply, who has money?
None. ZERO.
Hugh Hewitt, who's to the left of me (which isn't saying a lot), said he meets with activists, and finds there just about no support for McMeMeMe.
He's the MEDIA candidate for the GOP. I wish I remember where I first saw him referred to as "Senator John McCain (R - Media)." Might have been Rush.
Too true!
Dan
Ooookay...Where's a translater when you need one?
Exactly - we need a young candidate that will make Hitlery look old and haggard, not McLame.
I am with you! Oklahoma is an early primary state and we will do to McCain what we did in 2000 -- hand him a huge lose! :)
Detest the media and sometimes the conservative media lines right up with the MSM. That straight talk express was anything but straight talk. Just shows you wine and dine the media and they will bow down at least until the general election.
WRONG.. McLaim appeals to RINOs and democrats, and RINOS are just stealth democrats.. Literally everybody on the right knows who and what McLaim is..
I agree 100%. But... if he makes it out of the primaries, and Hillary is the opponent, is should be an easy choice.
