Yesterday (Thursday) Mullah Krekar, the alleged leader of the Islamist group Ansar al-Islam who has been living in Norway as a refugee since 1991, said that the publication of the Muhammad cartoons was a declaration of war. “The war has begun,” he told Norwegian journalists. Mr Krekar said Muslims in Norway are preparing to fight. “It does not matter if the governments of Norway and Denmark apologize, the war is on.”

Islamist organizations all over the world are issuing threats towards Europeans. The Islamist terrorist group Hizbollah announced that it is preparing suicide attacks in Denmark and Norway. A senior imam in Kuwait, Nazem al-Masbah, said that those who have published cartoons of Muhammad should be murdered. He also threatened all citizens of the countries where the twelve Danish cartoons [see them all here, halfway down the page] have been published with death.

It is important, however, to stress again that there are Muslims of great courage. While it is risky to publish the Muhammad cartoons in Europe, it is even riskier to do so in the Middle East. Yet the Jordanian independent tabloid al-Shihan published three of the twelve Muhammad cartoons yesterday. The editor of al-Shihan, Jihad al-Momani, said he decided to publish the cartoons to show what the issue was all about. In an editorial under the headline “Muslims of the world, be reasonable” he pointed out that Jyllands-Posten had apologized for offending Muslims. He deplored that few in the Islamic world seem to be willing to listen to this. “What brings more prejudice against Islam, these caricatures or pictures of a hostage-taker slashing the throat of his victim in front of the cameras or a suicide bomber who blows himself up during a wedding ceremony in Amman?” the editor asked.

I used to think the Crusade was bit overbearing, but after seeing these people in action for the last four years I'm beginning to understand why someone would want them wiped out. What a bunch of cowards and cry babies.

...incredibly interesting that no american paper has published the cartoons. i wonder a govt advisory has gone out or would it just be plain common sense?

Or the third option - showing the cartoons in an American paper might mean the American media would then be under pressure to explain why those cartoons are evil - and the American people would understand immediately the threat to freedom of expression and this would upset the 'insurgent'/'freedom fighter'/'they really just want to be left alone' image that has so carefullly been crafted. More people would appreciate the fact that these are terrorists that have put a new wrapper on the same old 'we are the master race' wickedness.

What I want to know about the Koran is this: what kind of reward would a female suicide bomber get in paradise? Would she get 72 male virgins? And, what kind of paradise is it for the 72 female virgins who get handed over to male martyrs? Or is that really hell?

Then they will have to find another religion because Muhammad said in the Koran and hadith that Mecca is defended by angels from the infidel.

I saw this being discussed on tv last night. Apparently, she is looking forward (!) to becoming one of the 72 virgin rewards. I guess that is what happens when you are raised to believe that you are lower than dirt.

I just don't understand why they don't leave Islam

Honor killings, of course. You know it is illegal to leave Islam (anyone who does that is an "apostate") and apostates can and must (in Islam that is) be murdered. Best if one's own family does it, that wipes the vile "shame" of having an apostate in the family away and returns the family's honor. Honor killings can also be for "sluts" who don't marry who they're told to, or just disobey in any general way.

I've read several articles about women in European countries who reported their fears to authorities but ended up being killed anyway. Another one of those "cultural" traits of Islam that's difficult to square with Western culture. You can't do much just from the threat of the murder, but if you wait, well then the person gets killed.

I actually read an Ask the Imam question that was just like yours. The women get to be perpetual virgins and their hearts are made gladly submissive to the men. They become the reward for the men and are made blissfully happy about it.
