Pat would prefer us to arm Hamas, Iran and let them destroy Israel.

Isn't this an old column, I swear I've read it all before.

At least 125 times in the last 4 years.

Shut up, Pat.

Your cut-and-run foreign policy has been outdated since the 1930s.

You're much better when you bash the liberals. Remember them?

What a wonderful example of someone not understanding the point of the statement at all. This person needs to read the speech again and not assume the worst - something I doubt he's very good at.

Having plunged us into an unnecessary war, Bush now confronts the real possibility of strategic defeat and a failed presidency. His victory in Iraq, like the wars of Wilson and FDR, has turned to ashes in our mouths. And like Truman's war in Korea and Kennedy's war in Vietnam, Bush's war has left America divided and her people regretting he ever led us in. But unlike the world wars, Korea and Vietnam, Bush cannot claim the enemy attacked us and we had no choice. Iraq is Bush's war.

More goop from the nutty Pat Buchanan brigades. Next.

Why would a president use his State of the Union to lash out at a school of foreign policy thought that has had zero influence in his administration?

You've jumped the shark Pat. That's a dumb question.

Having plunged us into an unnecessary war, Bush now confronts the real possibility of strategic defeat and a failed presidency.

... and thus, the transformation is now complete: Pat Buchanan has morphed completely into Cindy Sheehan.

It's getting so I click on a thread with an interesting headline, see it's an article written by Buchanan, and exclaim, "Oh, sh#t!" Once upon a time -- probably in another life -- I used to enjoy reading his columns. These days, just seeing his name evokes the same effect in me as nails on a blackboard.

Pat is pathetic.

Maybe his brain died, and the rest of his body missed the memo.

well, these 2 paragraphs are OK:

"With opposition also rising to his free-trade policy, Bush reverted to the same tactic: Caricature and castigate critics of his own failed policies. "Protectionists," said Bush, pretend "we can keep our high standards of living, while walling off our economy."

But it was protectionists from Lincoln to Coolidge who gave us the highest standard of living on earth. And the record of Bush's merry band of free-traders? The largest trade deficits in history, a $200 billion trade surplus for Beijing at our expense in 2005, and 3 million lost manufacturing jobs since Bush first took the oath."

Remember when Pat Buchanan used to be all about locking, loading, mounting up and riding to the sound of the guns? I miss that Pat. I liked him a lot better.

Hey Pat, remember those guys that flew passenger planes into those tall buildings in New York a few years ago killing thousands of Americans?

What was Bush intervening in then to provoke them Pat?

For that matter what was Clinton intervening in before that Pat? He ran from every Islamic fight while they continued to attack and kill... The only people he actually made war on in 8 years weren't Islamic terrorists...

What do you think those same people would do with a nuke Pat?

Have you been listening to Iran Pat?

You know Pat, we don't live in a world separated by vast oceans anymore that form natural protective barriers. Any coast USA is minutes to hours away from our enemies - not days or months.

Pat the world has changed. Too bad you're stuck in the past.

I believe Pat's problems stems from spending too much time with Chris Matthews and Ron Reagan Jr. and collecting checks from MSNBC.

His praise for Hamas was unbelievable and he blatantly lived up to his anti-semetic reputation.
