He was 54-a baby and I outlived him.He once asked me after my fifth child was born."Was I a good Father"At 21 I would have said no,at 30 I would have said no but at 32 I thought about it in the backyard and I said Yes.You did the best you could and yes Dad you were a good Father.

Along the same note, Susan St. James, her husband Dick Ebersol and their sons were on Oprah today. This is the only interview they have done on the plane crash just over a year ago that seriously hurt Dick and one of his older sons. The youngest child - age 14 - was killed in the crash.

St. James was sent a quote that she had framed and keeps over her desk. She said it is one of the things, along with her faith, that gets her through the day.

"We are not human beings having a spiritual experience
We are spiritual beings having a human experience."

I kinda like it.

Lisa Beamer wrote a book about her husband Todd and Flight 93. One of the things that really stuck with me was her reliance on that verse, that God knows our future and that it is a good one.

She felt that we couldn't comprehend 'good' (or prosperous, with hope and not harm) the same way God does, but that His promise was sufficient.

You're making me cry. My mom was 60 when she died. Too young.

St. James said that people kept telling her it was OK to be mad at God. She said that she just looked at them and replied, "I'm not mad at God. What good would that do - it wasn't his fault. It was an accident."

She is a very strong woman who held her family together through faith and love.

Irish temper?

But you let it blow, and don't hold a grudge?

You're amazing, you know that, right?
