In the past few days, Hudspeth County Sheriff's Department deputies and their families have received threats to stay off the Rio Grande. Sheriff Arvin West told ABC-7 Thursday morning, before departing for Houston that the Mexican military is behind all of this.
Sheriff West said, "There is no doubt in my mind -- from the first time going back to a couple of years ago and every time in between --- it's the Mexican military. In a nutshell, everybody's been trying to tell everybody that they were here...they've been here ...[and] they come here quite often, regularly."

A bigot by any other name is a bigot.
Do you blame shoplifters for shoplifting? Or it someone else's fault?
You said racist. Please state the specific race to which you were referring when you accused some Freepers, that you have thus far failed to name, of being racist.
And idiot by any other name is still an idiot. Idiot.
Where?
Who are you, Czars personal cheerleader? haha.Ethnic and racial background is real close to being the same thing. Some different races do have the same ethnic background. I am not here to slice hairs. Being a bigot against a certain ethnic background IMHO is still being a racist.
Shall I link the criminality of certian "Ethnic" Illegals to their criminal behaviours, or is that "racist" too?
See, break 1 law "It's OK" you say...how many laws can be broken before Illegal Infiltrators should be made to go the "F'm Kerry" home?
Care to write here what laws we are OK to break in your world? Because I REALLY want to scrutinize your list, you OBL pultroon!
I want to make a better life...your house is unlocked...can't blame me for wanting what you have...and better not call me on it, otherwise I'll call you racist!
IOW...Bite me, you anti-American Bigot!
As usual, when all else fails, the quislings play the race card! They continually try to blur the line between legal immigrants and illegal aliens, taking the cue from our exalted Mexican ruler Jorge Bush.
Oh please, we're not at war, and we're not being occupied. Blatantly false rhetoric doesn't further any cause.
Then you're either incredibly naive or in denial.
But, of course, them threatening us is, in no way, "war", as you see it, right? In your mind, the Mexican army crossing over into U.S. territory without permission is only a threat if we call them on it. I'm sure you would call it an "act of war" if the U.S. army entered Mexican territory without permission.
Shoot the coyotes, leave their bodies at the border, eventually they will get he message, traffickers will be shot on sight.
Use you're head. If the Republicans lose control of the house in November, the Democrats will gain control of the house. Do you honestly think that the Democrats holding the house is going to benefit anyone?
Right, and we're supposed to pretend that this kind of comment isn't racist right? It all goes to hell when the Mexicans move in, but it's not racist. Uh-huh, right.
Oh please, we're not at war, and we're not being occupied. Blatantly false rhetoric doesn't further any cause.
Oh really?
Sheriff warns of terrorist threats on border
HOUSTON A West Texas sheriff's deputy warned federal lawmakers Friday that drug traffickers are helping terrorists with possible al Qaeda ties cross the porous Texas-Mexico border into the United States.
Terry Simons, the chief deputy in Val Verde County, offered little evidence of his claims. An FBI special agent in Houston, Shauna Dunlap, said there is "no credible evidence" that supports the warning.
U.S. Sen. John Cornyn, R-Texas, said in Austin on Friday that border security is an issue that is high on the Senate's agenda.
Simons, part of a group that has been pushing state and federal officials for more funding for law enforcement on the border, told members of Congress meeting in Houston that Texas authorities have learned of newly established camps in Mexico where "narcoterror- ists" are being trained in "escape and evasion, as well as fighting techniques and combat maneuvering."
Simons also said the FBI has informed border sheriffs that Muslims with possible al Qaeda ties are training with them.
But, I guess you side with the Gub'Mint here...right? Falling back on the "Credible evidence" line...meaning we will deny it all until we can't cover it up anymore, then we'll say it's no big deal!
And there were no Mexican Military units smuggling contraband into Texas recently...right?
Oh, now I am a bigot. Tell me, what was your and Czars alternate ego freeper name before you changed it. Did you make early enemies and can't stand the heat?I see lots of new names with old sign up dates, I wonder why.
And what was you earlier handle here on FR?
have you always been jeffc?
Right, and we're supposed to pretend that this kind of comment isn't racist right? It all goes to hell when the Mexicans move in, but it's not racist. Uh-huh, right.
Hmm....really?
Maybe a little more depth is needed in your understanding of economics...
Sociologist Lisa Catanzarite looked at many different occupations across 38 major metropolitan areas. She found that the higher the percentage of "recent immigrant Latino men" [RILM] in each local job, the lower the wages paid to citizens and established immigrants.
She writes: "The pay penalty in occupation-MAs [Metropolitan Areas] with 25% RILM [recent immigrant Latino men] amounts to $2,369 per year; at 15% RILM, the penalty is $1,421, and at 5% RILM, $474. These are substantial wage discounts, given that annual earnings average $21,590. In other words, in occupations with 25% RILM, workers earn only 89% as much as workers in comparable fields without RILM."
In other words: all else being equal, if the makeup of your occupation's local labor pool changes from 0% new immigrant to 25%, your income shrinks 11%. (source...http://www.ncpa.org/iss/imm/2003/pd081903c.html and http://www.chicano.ucla.edu/)
And that only accounts for the unskilled Labor market...the % difference is GREATER in the "Skilled" Labor segment. And don't deny it, because the demands for H-1B's PROVES it's more profitable for Companies to follow this business model that GUTS the American Middle Class!
Game, set, you lose.
There are only 140 Rangers in the entire state, and it's a big state.
