Democrats are hammering Republicans right now for what they call a "culture of corruption." While the Abramoff scandal is no small thing, it is important to realize that he is now on trial for his crimes. He has also been disavowed by all Republicans. Furthermore, those who have been connected with him have lost their power. But when we talk about corruption, let's look at a few facts:
Clinton Democrats:
61 indictments or criminal charges
33 convictions
14 imprisonments
7 independent counsel investigations
72 Congressional witnesses pleading the 5th Amendment
19 foreign witnesses who declined interviews by investigative bodies
17 witnesses fleeing the country to avoid investigation
Bush Republicans
1 indictment, not even on the primary issue

gotta bump this one for my DU friend
Liberals, the left, communists are NOT hypocrites. For them there is no truth and God does not exist or is irrelevant. If there is no truth there cannot be any hypocrisy because what you say does not describe any facts but supports a cause. Whatever supports the cause is proper to say or do. There is only contradiction snd hypocrisy if there is objective truth.
It does us no good to call them hypocrites. It is a word that has no meaning for them.Or rather it is a word with an unfavorable sound so it is a proper word to describe people who are not approved- not part of the group. With no truth all adjectives that for the rest of us imply good or evil mean only approved or unapproved. That is why leftists throw the most outrageous charges at nonleftists with great sincerity. People not on their side are ipso facto guilty of whatever evil can be ascribed because all those words mean only "approved" or "not approved" "party line" or "not party line."
1 indictment, not even on the primary issue
What is meant by "Bush Republicans"? I'm asking because both Tom Delay and 'Scooter' Libby have phony trumped-up charges against them and I was wondering if this was an oversight on the part of the author or does he not consider Tom Delay a "Bush Republican" since Delay's a member of Congress and not really answerable to the President? Or does he not consider 'Scooter' Libby a "Bush Republican" since he wasn't elected?
