The Secret Service ought to be investigating the boy's parents. He got these ideas somewhere and, refreshingly, it doesn't appear that he got them from his teacher.

This is a matter for the school principal, not the feds. If the principal believes the kid is a danger to himself or others, then call the local cops. Talk about getting your shorts in a bunch.

Sounds like a few freepers here ... maybe it's a freeper kid. What he is so critical of, so are many leftist freepers here. In any event, he's hearing this stuff at home - Demoncrats and closet Demoncrats who believe they are conservatives would applaud this kid - in private of course.

"This is a matter for the school principal, not the feds."7th graders that write such nonsense re not the original source of it. The school realizes that, and that's why they called the cops. The cops and the SS should investigate to discover an scutinize the source of the kid's enlightenment. Could be the locals are using the feds as a pro investigative service to economize, because the pres was a major focus.

I'm only surprised a teacher thought it cause for concern!

The one-page essay also said the student wanted to kill Oprah Winfrey, hurt executives at Coca-Cola and Wal-Mart and attack a Walgreens pharmacy, police and school officials told The Providence Journal. There's something really whiffy about this. First off, since when are Secret Service agents publicly identified? Second, look at the list above. Oprah Winfrey? Coca-Cola? WalMart? Walgreens? That's hilarious. I have a feeling this is going to be revealed as a mis-report or a hoax.

kids do mirror what goes on in the home.....Weekly Reader election poles are often good indicators of results...

As a teacher, I can attest that we are told to turn into the principal anything involving violence, drugs or sex. I would suppose the logic is that if a kid wrote about it and then actually did it, the teacher could be liable for 'pooh-poohing' it away.

First off, since when are Secret Service agents publicly identified? Whenever they are speaking on the record.
