Amazing how that works sometimes! Thank God! I have some really tall (50ft?) pine and spruce trees in my backyard and the neighbors'. They sway so much in the wind, one of these years, one is going to fall and hit the house. Hope not! (Glad no one sleeps upstairs. LOL)
LOL!!! We'll storm the Stillers! And the 12th man reigns!
I lost a huge fir in that storm. Came home from work to check when the neighbor called and said one of my trees came down. The only time I thought I was going to die in a plane crash was commuting from SEA to PDX one night with 60kt gusts cross-wind, both in takeoff and landing. The pilots said the jet stream was moving at 180kts at altitude. I asked him what limits the aircraft from taking off in heavy winds and he said "I do".
Woops. You're gonna lose some trees!! Hey you can watch the wind speeds at the top of the mile ski lift at Mt Hoods Timberline Lodge here
http://www.timberlinelodge.com/conditions/topmile.shtml
I had 2 smallish (40 footers) come down. But there was about a 120 right behind my house to the north, and it fell directly away from my place. Had it gone 180 degrees the other way it would have cut my house in two.

Hmmm. Lake Dolloff area? It might have been mine!
Hey at that link; am surprised the wind speeds on the coast are that low.
I am in Olympia, Washington, just about 70 miles south of Seattle...we have already been having losts of wind all week...I thought we were going to blow away the other nite...seems like every winter we get lots of wind...par for the course around here...
We're already having huge winds in Auburn. I had to take down my flags and wind chimes.
Thanks for the info. Hope it's not as bad as it sounds.
As long as they don't hit the house, I could care less, if they do hit the house,I get a new house, so thats kinda cool.......:*)
Problem is, it might blow them right into Idaho and Montana. Doubt they want them either! ;o)
Weather fun coming :)
That's a good way to look at it. (I think).
Yes, Out with the Old, In with the New!
Yup! I know it's been pretty windy for a week or so, but this is the first time in a while there's been an advisory. As long as nothing fall on my house, I'm snug as a bug in a rug. (even got a small 7" 12V color tv I can watch the game on if the power goes out).

Does anyone else read these announcements with the computerized NOAA weather radio guy's voice in your head?!
