I don't entirely trust Boehner. What do others know and think about him?

From the article:
A deputy to former Speaker Newt Gingrich (R-Ga.), Boehner is expected to bring a new style to the leader’s post after pledging during the campaign to involve more members in the legislative process and to offer an olive branch of sorts to House Democrats.

Boehner has long been considered DeLay’s chief rival, and he pledged during his campaign to renew many of the ideals that characterized the so-called Republican Revolution spear-headed by Gingrich.

Doesn't sound to bad to me.

Probably a formality. He's expecting the Dems to spit on the olive branch, so that he can say that he at least tried when he marginalizes the hell out of them.

Well, we had the Hammer...but some folks demanded he be removed....

This is who we get. They brought it about. If folks don't like it, talk to those that demanded Delay's removal.

And once again, put the WHOLE QUOTE:

We don't need to extend an olive branch to the Rats, we need to bash them over the head with a sledgehammer.

One of the underreported stories of last year is how all the Democrats voted in block in the House. You have blue dogs voting with Pelosi which has meant that House Republicans have been held hostage by their weak sisters the RINO's.

Hopefully the olive branch means getting those blue dogs to vote with us again rather than with Pelosi so we won't have to worry about RINO's like Charlie Bass.

I want to offer an olive limb to the Dems. Maybe about 3 feet long and 36 or so ounces. Not quite as effective as ash wood, but it should still do the job.

You took that out of context.

The libs just sharpen the end of the "olive branch" and stick us in the eye with it.

Why don't these idiots understand that?

Why must they give the olive branch to the dems? Sometimes it really pisses me off that the repubs don't realize they have the power right now. They are afraid or something. We have practically EVERYTHING. This does not happen everyday. Why aren't we using it to our advantage while we have it. There will be a day (maybe 100 years I don't know) when the dems are going to be back in power and do you think that they will give the olive branch. I would love to hit every one of them. Ya, end up in jail, but if it knocked some sense into them it would be worth it. LOL.

You don't offer "olive branch" to liberals, we need someone to offer an olive club across the head, between the eyes.
